A bit blah today, but not too terribly depressed. I guess that's improvement?

And now, to finish work on something else.

I'm going to see Watchmen tomorrow afternoon (and at some point over the weekend, guest on a podcast), so you might not hear much from me over the next couple of days. Of course, as sure as I say that, I'll post five times. I'm just saying, either one is possible. (I never know what I'll be able to write until I sit down and try to do it. So I have no idea if I'll be able to put up something about Watchmen or not.) I'm finishing up a new Secret Life, but I'm also trying to space them out a bit. Honestly, I've just given up on the idea of getting any actual work done until Monday, but at least I know it, I guess.

I've also been feeling really tired lately--I mean, I know you already know that because I'm always talking about it, but I'm starting to think it's actually a mild bit of depression. You know, that chemical imbalance kind where you feel bad for no specific reason, not an event-related depression. We're getting into spring now, though, so I think it'll lift. I'm just not feeling so great at the moment, is all.

And right as I was putting on the finishing touches, the new Star Trek trailer came out. Enjoy.

Got some good links tonight--full Public Enemies and Wolverine trailers in there. And I'll have another post up shortly.

I'm starting to think my constant snivellous snerf is allergies rather than some kind of cold, because it's a persistent, low-grade annoyance. Fnarr.

Meanwhile, the fan failure issue seemed to have been fixed by pulling clots of dust out of the back of the CPU; the system battery's still an issue, but I've talked to a few people, and apparently it's going to involve me going to Wal-Mart and buying a CMOS battery the size of a dime, no big hassle. So I'm working on the computer downstairs during the day to buy a little more time until I get out to do errands on Friday, and when I change out the battery, I'll vacuum can-of-air the inside of the CPU.

Also, activities on The Shelf are continuing, but I don't want to burn everyone out on that, so we'll hold off on updates for now. Although if you have icon requests, let me know, because I think I'm going to kill some time doing those tonight.

Made Of Fail - Episode 13: And That's When the Internet Exploded. Unless there's been a change of plans, I'm scheduled to go on their next podcast to discuss Watchmen (THREEPEAT GUEST, WOO!).

Filthy, nasty, stormy weather today. In yet more evidence that I am wholly solar-powered, I did nothing but curl up in the recliner and watch episodes of A Haunting on the Discovery Channel (the one about Dartford Cemetery was particularly good, if cheesy) and shudder at the mere thought of being a productive member of society.

Also, nothing came for me in the mail today. Sadface.

And now, off to forage for dinner.

>> I've been fluctuating between listless and bubbly, which is weird. Like, not even in a manic-depressive way (I don't think?), just--you know how puppies will romp around and then fall over and sleep for fifteen minutes, then get up and do it again? Kind of like that.

>> While I was in the shower yesterday, I came up with a new, punched-up ending to my Black Ribbon series--the ending of the eighth book--that will (I think, I hope) blow people's minds. Possibly they will throw the book across the room, which I highly look forward to. Of course, we'll never know until we get there, and even if I finished the first book TODAY and sold it tomorrow, that eighth book could be ten years away. Which is kind of why I want it on record now, that I came up with the new ending today. For... some reason. Posterity, I guess.

>> For some reason, this really makes me laugh. I might have even posted it before, who knows:

Back that way: Iorek finally gets his skyfoil (with pictures!); the Faramirs read Twilight; Valentine's plans are made.

I'm behind on the Snack Deathmatch! Today: Apple pie vs. peach pie.

I am behind on so, so much, actually. Particularly the linkspam. And discussing the bush fires (which we will get to in greater length this weekend. Again: The Red Cross). I spent much of the day sneezing, strangely. And I'm an hour late on getting dinner because I passed out napwise from five to seven. So I'm not feeling so much with the good right now, I guess.

Omg, I am so tired in such a stupid pointless way. Mostly because I have that cold and I'm snerfly and argh I am so over this. And I was away from the computer most of the day so I'm also behind on everything. Otherwise, you would also have a new Secret Life entry, because we have developments on that front. So look for that in the morning, I guess. Maybe? When are the televised inaugural festivities starting? Because even if three hours of leadup bore me to tears, I feel like I should be there, you know? A historic first is, by definition, a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Anyway. Linkspam. I've decided not to post generic Sundance links, or at least very few of them, because there's dozens of them on my feeds and I have neither the time nor the fortitude to deal with that right now. If it's a specific news item, sure, it'll go in, but as mentioned previously, several movie sites are doing exhaustive coverage (off the top of my head: EW; MTV; Defamer), so, you know: enjoy.
