I'm behind on the Snack Deathmatch! Today: Apple pie vs. peach pie.

I am behind on so, so much, actually. Particularly the linkspam. And discussing the bush fires (which we will get to in greater length this weekend. Again: The Red Cross). I spent much of the day sneezing, strangely. And I'm an hour late on getting dinner because I passed out napwise from five to seven. So I'm not feeling so much with the good right now, I guess.

This has nothing to do with the linkspam, I'm just tickled that you've had Emilie Autumn as your current music for the past couple entries. (Why yes, I'm a fangirl. And have been since 2003.)

Scarlett Johansson to Replace Emily Blunt as Black Widow in Iron Man 2?

Please no.

Contrary to what some fans (and, it seems, the producers) may think, the Widow does do something besides stand close to Nick Fury and look vapidly "hawt."

(I bet they're gonna go with Yelena instead of Natasha, too.)

Hopefully the Director has some say -- after all he's the one that pushed for RDJ so I trust his judgment. I do think they'll stick with Natasha since she's the most well known and well the most kick ass.

I do wonder what fans you are talking about since most guys I know that drool over her like her best when she's kicking butts and taking names. And overall I trust Fav to make a good movie -- even though I'm worried that the screen writers don't seem to be the same.

Honesty I didn't want Emily Blunt as Black Widow either. Give me Milla Jovovich or Ann Paquin or Franka Potente. My gf disagrees, and thinks Scarlett Johansson would be good -- I just think she has the wrong look and Gwen would eat her alive. (Plus she'd probably refuse to have the right hair color for the role.)

I agree wholeheartedly.

They also need a theme song.

They're Explodey and The Sneak
Yes, Explodey and The Sneak
One is sorta crazy,
And don't give the other cheek (he'll beat you)
They're leaders of the Others
You might think somehow they're brothers
Who knows?
They're Explodey and The Sneak, Sneak, Sneak, Sneak
Sneak, Sneak, Sneak, Sneak
Sneak.

Before the island breaks,
You'll see their plan unfurl
They'll bring back all of the Six,
And try to save the world.

They're Explodey and The Sneak
Yes, Explodey and The Sneak
The mysteries they contain
Aren't that easy to explain.
To understand this show
A second brain you'll need to grow
Good luck,
'Cuz they're Explodey and The Sneak, Sneak, Sneak, Sneak
Sneak, Sneak, Sneak, Sneak
Sneak.

I am lolling hardcore at the Director's Notebook notes for Edward. It's like "You know, he should be pale...a great actor...and the most beautiful human being on the planet." Which, of course, widens the field considerably.

I really have nothing of substance to say, yet I feel compelled to comment because you mentioned Peter Gabriel. OK, WHAT is going on with Joaquin Phoenix? I mean, I generally can't even remember him except I know he was good in Walk the Line, but...I saw that video clip from Letterman, and - well he must be on something, right? Right?? That can't be how he is normally. Can it?

You know, I think Heath Ledger was a great actor, and I loved Heath as the Joker, but I think it's a little too much to ask that a staple Batman character who's been in the comics forever be retired in the movies just because Heath is no longer around. Does that mean there should also be no more teen comedies based on The Taming of the Shrew, because Heath can't be here to act in them? I'm just sayin'.

I love that the Dollens were smack-dab in the middle of Creepy Anime Chick Central on io9. Hee.

It's not that I don't love many of Heath's performances or think that he made an awesome Joker, it's just...are they serious? He's THE JOKER. There've already been several versions of him on the big screen. And I am sure there will be more.

P.S. I have been called the Voice of Reason! My life is now complete. *g*

*nods* Oh, yes, I agree completely. The Joker is an extraordinary character and to have him "retired from film" would be a disservice to everyone who's added to the character in EVERY medium over the decades.
