A few thoughts

>> I've been fluctuating between listless and bubbly, which is weird. Like, not even in a manic-depressive way (I don't think?), just--you know how puppies will romp around and then fall over and sleep for fifteen minutes, then get up and do it again? Kind of like that.
>> While I was in the shower yesterday, I came up with a new, punched-up ending to my Black Ribbon series--the ending of the eighth book--that will (I think, I hope) blow people's minds. Possibly they will throw the book across the room, which I highly look forward to. Of course, we'll never know until we get there, and even if I finished the first book TODAY and sold it tomorrow, that eighth book could be ten years away. Which is kind of why I want it on record now, that I came up with the new ending today. For... some reason. Posterity, I guess.
>> For some reason, this really makes me laugh. I might have even posted it before, who knows:

New Yorkers to boycott NY Post over "racist" cartoon. My Little Pony Blue Collector Pony: Electric blue on black and no eyes. Charming! Let it be noted, while we're here, that I finally remembered that I had an old Entertainment Earth affiliates account, so you can order from EE as well as from Amazon if you want to throw me a couple of pennies on the dollar. Alice Dollen isn't available yet, for example, but a surprising number of y'all expressed interest, and apparently you can buy both the Twilight dolls and action figures through Entertainment Earth. Well, not right now, because they may not officially be shipping yet, but you see what I'm saying.

Date: 2009-02-20 03:18 am (UTC)ENOUGH, I SAY.
I am a HUGE Batman fan, but seriously, if I see another movie that even hints at the disaster that is Batman and Robin, I will find a way to hunt down every WB exec who said, "oh yes, this is an excellent idea!"
>:O LEAVE IT BE.

Date: 2009-02-20 04:03 am (UTC)1) I've recently sworn off Jose Cuervo because that picture IS ME.
2) I go to NYU and I didn't hear about this thing until just now. *sigh* I don't even know how to explain the bitches over at Take Back NYU. They say their about rights and giving the Palestinian students scholarships, but all they really do is yell "Fuck Bernie Madoff" at the beginning of my sociology lecture. I hope J-Sex (NYU's president with an AWESOME NAME) let's them sit there as long as they like and gives them nothing.
3) I love how they call it "the occupation." I'm getting flashbacks from Nazi Poland.
4) I also love how they say the food court like we only have one. We have like, seven.

Date: 2009-02-20 03:24 pm (UTC)My favorite by far, though, is the Half Blood Prince cover -- even beyond Dumbledore's death I thought the creepiest, most upsetting part of the book was all of those dead bodies floating beneath the surface of that dark lake, just waiting to rise up and drag down innocent victims. Incredibly eerie.

Also, I'd totally see the movie if it involved what's in that picture... *snerk*
And ABC... really? Really? You can't just give some reality shows a night off to burn off the last three? Assholes.

Date: 2009-02-20 05:58 am (UTC)I just posted a journal entry about how I wanted to go to PaleyFest09 and COULDN'T because who the hell has $750 to go to a TV convention? Not me... and now this is another thing for me to bitch about tomorrow at work... first no True Blood cast and now no Pushing Daisies ON TOP of that..
I'll bet that they will have them on the DVD and hopefully do what Dead Like Me did and make a movie (only PD better have an awesome ending)

And I will still watch S. Darko... I will. And you know why? Because I am lame and watch EVERYTHING (well everything that doesn't have Batman or Leonardo DiCaprio in it) and I love Daveigh Chase. I was enthralled with her back in her Ring days... I watched Lilo and Stitch all the time I even started watching Big Love because of her... there is something about her that draws me in...

Date: 2009-02-20 01:37 pm (UTC)*Of course, I'm biased because I once got burned in a like manner. I made a cover for a fruit-fly researcher's convention in Chicago. Fruit flies buzzing around the Sears tower. I showed it to everyone I knew in Texas because I was proud of it, then sent it off to Washington D.C. to be printed by the government agency in charge of funding the convention. And if that art director could have reached through the phone and pulled out my gut, she would have. Because it was spring 2002 and way too soon for that kind of image. I bet that artist is really fucking ashamed right now. I know I was.

You know, before I just called it Excalibur, but some how Gryffindor's sword appeals so much more to me.
