Omg, I am so tired in such a stupid pointless way. Mostly because I have that cold and I'm snerfly and argh I am so over this. And I was away from the computer most of the day so I'm also behind on everything. Otherwise, you would also have a new Secret Life entry, because we have developments on that front. So look for that in the morning, I guess. Maybe? When are the televised inaugural festivities starting? Because even if three hours of leadup bore me to tears, I feel like I should be there, you know? A historic first is, by definition, a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Anyway. Linkspam. I've decided not to post generic Sundance links, or at least very few of them, because there's dozens of them on my feeds and I have neither the time nor the fortitude to deal with that right now. If it's a specific news item, sure, it'll go in, but as mentioned previously, several movie sites are doing exhaustive coverage (off the top of my head: EW; MTV; Defamer), so, you know: enjoy.

Photos from (taken during) the Lincoln Memorial concert yesterday. Lots of tall boots and tight pants, I noticed.

New Half-Blood Prince Trailer Running in Japan, New Stills of Snape on the Tower, Greyback, Draco and More; New Japanese trailer caps; Hallows of Hogwarts "for years" working title of DH; Voldemort Named Among Worst Literary Villains by Penguin, by which they mean "best," but I would also be willing to take that in the "least ept" sense, given that the Big V begins his career by getting pwned by a baby and really just goes downhill from there.

Hugh Jackman Reaches Out Via AICN, Attaches Photo (Badass New Full Cast Photo from 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'!). Maybe they're just used to this over at AICN, but I think I would sit there staring for a good twenty minutes at my computer if I got an email verifiably from Hugh Jackman.

I've only read the first of Mead's Vampire Academy books, but I liked it far more than Twilight. Neither is stellar, but Mead's at least doesn't feel like full-out self-fantasy.

I'm... confused, how are they vampires? I see the key words but nothing that links them to actually -being- the creatures of the night. Do they avoid the sun for fear of fire or sparkle?

And I think the most important question: Is there actual sex/sucking going on in these books?

That's why the sentence I found most reassuring was the one saying Joel Silver is up for raising the cash. Getting the actors is important, yes, but ain't nothing happening without funding. I'm hoping Kristen Bell's rising star will help a wee bit and Silver will really try to push this through. Dumber ideas have made it onscreen.

I dunno... I'm not even done reading the interview between Walken and Rourke and am pretty entertained by it. It covers a lot of history and isn't completely Rourke centric... Walken's history is included, stories about Muhammed Ali, etc

I had to stop and come here to post this gem though:
MR: Yeah. If you look closely at some scenes in Diner, my eyes look like Dracula's. But the DP got me to stop that, and I was a little pissed off because I'm thinking, My God, if Christopher Walken tells you to do your own eyes, then you'd better fucking do your own eyes.

CW: This was my mistake. I'm sorry.

The brain helmet had better work. I'm still generally furious about Pratchett's Alzheimer's - if, before he was diagnosed, I'd had to pick a single author to have nothing bad happen to, ever, it would have been PTerry. I can't stand that we're going to lose him before his time.

Also: I'd really like Scott Pilgrim to be a good movie, plz kthx.

Eeee, new Princess and Frog art! I'm so excited about this movie. I can tell that it can easily be boring and heavy handed or really, really good, and I'm hoping for the latter.

I'm not one to defend Britney Spears, but... Isn't that the point? What kind of world is this where something almost sorta sounding like offensive must be censored?

Why are they making a fourth Spider-Man movie? I honestly don't think my love for Bruce Campbell, Rosemary Harris, J.K. Simmons, and Ted Raimi are enough to make me watch anymore after the third movie.

AHAHAHAHA! Breaks his silence? I'm sorry, were we anxiously awaiting comment from him on this? In fact, when was the last time anyone heard anything from Ralph - or cared?

And also - OMG, he's 47? WTF. How the hell old was he when he made the movie? He looked 16. I loved Karate Kid . . . hearing that made me realize it is over 20 years old. How did that happen?!

I was SO EXCITED when I saw the Veronica Mars news, until I read the article.

Season 1 was awesome, season 2 was good, and season 3 was crap. (Although the season 3 finale was pretty good.)

BUT! They made a teaser for season 4, and she joined the FBI, and it was seriously so amazing. I was so sad that it wasn't being made. So I assumed that the movie would be the same as that teaser, but...Rob Thomas says no.

Why would you do this to me, Rob Thomas? Why??

The main inauguration ceremony starts at 11 or 11:30. Obama gets sworn in at 11:56 as the transition happens at high noon on the dot. While a lot of things with the Federal Gov't drag (coughkatrinacough), they do get their events running on time.
