Just a few things, but the Watchmen opening credits are online, and there's also a headline containing the phrase "Gambit UNF UNF UNF." Enjoy.

Did I mention that I just realized yesterday that the Golden Globes are this weekend? I mean, not that that's a huge problem, but I hadn't started strength-training mentally preparing myself for the liveblogging. (The goal, by the way, is to have something you can actually read a week later and have any clue what I was talking about.) They didn't even have the Globes last year, due to the writers' strike, so it'll be nice to have the Drinky Oscars back.

(Please bear in mind, also, that I'm still reformatting the PBWiki as we go, now that we're all having to upgrade to 2.0.)

More fun in the mail! I don't know who sent me the key pendant, but I LOVE IT.

(I always love things people send in the mail, and thank you so much--I just wanted to make it clear that I don't usually post about things unless I'm trying to figure out who sent it, not because I didn't like it. I just don't want it to turn into, you know, Send Cleo Presents and Buy a Shoutout on Her Journal.)

(Although I do want to mention a glittery Christmas card from Chesh: "Just pretend the snowmen are vampires sparkling in the sunlight. They feed on snowballs.")

Re: Official SKIN OF A KILLER Glitter: Pillowcases? Really? )

Oh, and I wanted to mention/recommend this--every year, I get a Kinuko Craft calendar because I love her artwork. (I have already secured 2009's, because apparently I am doomed to know every single thing I am getting for birthday and Christmas, to the point where my mother and aunt and grandmother sat around in my grandmother's kitchen and sorted out who would give me what when. While I was sitting there in front of them. "Would you rather have Prince Caspian for birthday or Christmas?" "OMG STOP IT!!") So... consider it rec'd.

Also, a link request: A write-in campaign to protest the whitewash casting of 'The Last Airbender.'

Deeply weird: I was thinking about The Fountain, and when I got back to my desk half an hour later, "Death Is the Road to Awe," my favorite piece from the soundtrack, was cued up on my music player. I'm not saying it came up in a shuffle; I'm saying it was the only song on the playlist. When I'd left my desk, the only song on it had been the new Paramore. (Shut up.)

By the way, I did include that Edward-Bill meetup that people wanted in the latest True Blood recap. Mostly because I had been planning it from the moment I saw that episode. Seriously, that chair in the shadowy corner, y'all.

Today's Journal Birthmonth Flashback: kind of a Samson Agonistes recap (what? I was taking a Milton class). "Baby, why am I tied up?"

Have done a little spring cleaning over on my user profile--when Greatest Journal went down, it took some of my graphics down with it. Revised my user interests a little, added some OMG RECAPS HERE buttons, and as soon as I can think of something for a Cleoland graphic, I'll put one there, too. (My Occupation: Girl banner--and my default user icon--come from some fabulous Marguerite Sauvage artwork that I lost when my previous computer crashed, and she doesn't have those particular pieces on her own site anymore. I would kill to find that older artwork of hers.)

(She did artwork for French Nancy Drew, you guys!)

Hm. So... today's Journal Birthmonth flashback will be... ah! Let's do Cleo Sue.

Meanwhile, I must decide whether to sleep or start working on the third True Blood recap. Decisions, decisions.

P.S. Sookie has a flavor and it's MOON PIES, winning with 40% of the vote.

Please note that a good 70% of my Tonner announcement freakout euphoria earlier today was specifically doll-related. Remember, I already made my list of Ten Dolls I Would Like to See Tonner Make, so... this is all doll-collector crazy right here. Mostly.

(Since I mention a Susan doll in that top ten entry, here's pictures of the Narnia dolls Tonner pulled from their site [maybe they went back to the drawing board?]. Not only do I want them to actually get around to selling these, because I desperately want a Susan, but I also want them to make a Caspian so bad so I can buy him for her. I know, it's crazy, but for some reason I love Susan in the movies. [That's probably not how you expected me to finish a sentence beginning "I know, it's crazy," is it?] )

Also, in completely unrelated news, I created a media page on my little personal wiki, mostly as a scrapbook for myself so I can remember when people let me pretend I was someone important (whee!). So SUCK IT, WIKIPEDIA! Media outlets have occasionally mistaken me for someone notable enough to write about!

Anyway.

Whoa, where did all the linkspam come from? Outlandish segues into condescending gospel choirs or Muppet guest appearances )

I'm being such a lazy schmo today. I'm supposed to be revising poems, but I've gotten myself turned around so badly on the night-day thing that I'm desperately-but-pleasantly sleepy right now.

The exam went fine, thanks for asking. I suppose I could have written more, but it was late, and I was tired. Quinlan was cool about the paper, so I think I'm all right in that regard. Of course, it's too short, but he's said before that he'd rather people go under rather than over, or too few sources rather than too many. Seriously, can I have all my classes with him?

I have to write a 3-5 page paper for Crunk--a critical review of my own writing style. I'll post that here when I'm done (under a cut--good God) just in case you're curious to see what that entails. Put it this way: I've had to do it before, as an undergrad, and the second semester I wrote one, I titled it "Portfolio 2: Electric Boogaloo." It's not as dry as it sounds.

Couldn't sleep for shit last night, as previously stated. Guess what I ended up reading? )

Christmas vacation, as it tends to be, is Bookapalooza over here )

Over at SAST, because I am a link whore: new Johnny Depp pics; "Tom Cruise" invites me to go see "The Last Samauri"; tasty Peter Pan pics; cameo ideas for The Hobbit; what you get for the Lovecraft fan who has everything; get your "Legolas Dies" and "Frodo Is My Babydaddy" t-shirts while there's still time.
