Does 'Twilight' Suck the Brains Out of Teens?

I believe the obvious answer to that one is yes. If I ever had a daughter, I would want her looking up to the likes of Eowyn or Hemione "My Beaded Bag Could Take Over the World" Granger.

It was an ass matryoshka, is what I'm saying.

Ha! I actually saw the Titanic play-slide a few months ago! I was driving past an elementary school in Brentwood (a wealthy section of Los Angeles, located between Beverly Hills and Santa Monica). I only caught a glimpse, but it was unmistakable. I nearly rear-ended the SUV in front of me, while simultaneously wishing I had a camera-phone; and wondering if someone had slipped an acid tab into my water bottle.

Wait, wait, did we already know that Daniel Day-Lewis is playing Higgins?

He can sing? Is this going to be a singing remake? I dunno know, this is kinda in my "Why the fuck are they remaking this movie?" category.

I also have The Women, Clash of the Titans, and Red Dawn in this file.

Poor Morgan Freeman, I read he fell asleep at the wheel:( I am glad he is going to be ok.

My horde will be excited about a new Scooby movie. Me? I sob cause you know how many times I have had to sit through the other two? (Though 1933 King Kong is one of my 5 year old son's fave movies so all is not lost.)

Oh yes, They are remaking Red Dawn. (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i28e0d4f7991010721fa8d721c07ce0eb) And as a former teen of the 80s I am not happy about it.

Oh and add Robocop (http://www.cinematical.com/2008/05/17/mgm-plans-to-remake-robocop-and-red-dawn/) to the list of do not want a remake of. Both are such 80s movies and imo don't need to be messed with. Friday the 13th? Eh...whatever. :D

I had a history professor who gave us extra credit for comparing Red Dawn to the Battle of Thermopylae. (best class ever) As a child of the 90's I found it both amazing and FULL OF LULZ. A remake would sadly exchange the lulz for paranoia and racism.

I remember someone threw out Colin Firth's name as a suggestion early on and now after Mamma Mia I want to flail my arms and go NO NO NO NO. Daniel Day-Lewis...can he sing? He'll learn. He'll take voice lessons three, four times a day. And maybe have a seance to ask Rex Harrison for some pointers. And go find the original clothes Rex Harrison wore in the movie. And go learn linguistics and get his doctorate in it.

I... I'm not sure where to begin, honestly.

- Mmm, Ben Barnes. I noticed that my eyes seemed to be drawn to his name before I even realized it was there... >_> Still looking fine as ever, tho' I do prefer the longer hair on him...

-Sex scenes in Batman. *blink*blink* I'm totally fine with that, I wouldn't mind seeing more of Christian Bale... XD

-Oh no, Pauline Baynes! :( I am sad.

-Yay, Morgan Freeman's okay!

-WHAT THE EVERLOVING FUCK at that addition to the commentary. @.x;;;

-And speaking of Twilight... I'm not sure what song's presence on the tracklist makes me go "What? What? What?" more... "I'm Too Sexy" or "Today". o.O;

Why is everyone asking if Daniel Day Lewis can sing? Rex Harrison can't sing, and didn't sing—he did that weird Lerner & Lowe talking in tones thing both on Broadway and in the film. I dunno, perhaps they're all thinking of Christopher Plummer in Sound of Music?

Anyway, I actually wanted to say, re the Go-gos, that the rampant drug use and groupie fucking are some of my favorite things about the band; on the road they behaved like any other rock band. There's backstage footage of them completely wasted and talking about who they're going to bag that evening and it's like, the Go-go's as Def Leppard. Who knew?
