...rather early in the day, because my mother's off work today and she wanted to beat the fangirl rush. Our 10:50 am audience was mostly middle-aged-or-older women with a couple of similarly-aged men--until 10:55, when four teenage girls strolled in. "Ah, the Twibabies," observed my mother. "I guess they slept in." Perhaps this is why they put the Selena Gomez trailer last and put the Two Brothers Who Are Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy Ultimate-Fighting Each Other!! trailer first. Now, why they put Mel Gibson and his British beaver puppet in the middle, I don't know. That entire array of previews was weird.

Tomorrow: I may or may not get to see Jane Eyre. I'm going through a bit of a manic rough-around-the-edges swing again, so I'm trying to work as much (and as quietly) as possible.

ETA: My mother wants to go on record as saying that she "really, really liked it."

First: I am somehow the subject of [livejournal.com profile] writertracy's Author Spotlight this week! Also, in lieu of publicity headshots (I have none), I let her choose any of the Secret Life pictures she wanted. Obviously, this involved ponies.

Second: Let's have some linkspam. Read more... )

omg so tired. I've been pleasantly busy but not getting much sleep, which is kind of a problem, given that I'm still consumptive. Lots of errands, lots of cleaning, not as much recap writing as needs to be done. My own Christmas shopping is pretty much accomplished, so I'm helping my mother agonize over what the hell to get for everyone else. Also, if anything needs to be ordered online, this is generally my department.

@cleolinda: My grandmother can't see her Bible well enough anymore, so my mother found the whole thing on CD, as read by James Earl Jones.

@cleolinda: This was my question. RT @swirlee: What, was the Morgan Freeman edition sold out?

@queenanthai: "THOMAS. I FIND YOUR LACK OF FAITH DISTURBING."

Did leave the house omg and see Voyage of the Dawn Treader, which was... ehhhhh, I don't know. Let's discuss )

Let's have a little linkspam. I confess, this is a catch-up pulled from my Twitter, but some really interesting trailers came out that I don't want you to miss. Plus, an update on The Arachnid Musical.

Internets, I am not feeling so good. Just sinus blarg and a low fever, but I have been sleeping a lot. So that's where I've been.

Two bits of writerly advice:

@victoriastrauss: Agent Andrew Lownie on how to blow your chances in the first line of your email.

@MaryRobinette: Debut Author Lessons: 10 things about signing books.

Linkspam: movie news and your chance to be a werewolf, for really real. HOW CAN YOU BEAT THAT VALUE )

I discovered yesterday that Sam has been moonlighting as a superhero fighting crime. And that his masked alter ego is... Red Panda. BEHOLD! )

Meanwhile, Tour of Terror III is about to culminate in the Eclipse premiere in LA on Thursday. The last I heard, the tent city comprises 350 fans (no drugs, alcohol, cooking, or amplified music, plz), and OVER 9000 wristbands have been passed out. (For comparison, 6000 fans showed up for that San Diego Comic-Con panel in 2008.) In which I troll Twitter )

Meanwhile: The Associated Press has asked me to state whether I am Team Edward or Team Jacob. It looks like you will find out on Thursday. I think I did a better job of answering than Emma Roberts did, but I am prepared to stand my ground rather than be run off Livejournal, so.
