First: MOAR TWILIGHT. Yes, I did promise to do a 15M of the movie. I promised last May when I saw the first trailer, so y'all can relax. Twilight' Trailer Reactions: Some Fans Are Still Speechless, Others Just Can't Breathe; The Final ‘Twilight’ Trailer Is Here, And We Have Your Shot-By-Shot Analysis! (Please. I have already taken care of your tree-skittering, Jerome Robbins-choreographed, aerial slapfighting needs); the trailer music was from 'Interview with the Vampire'? (cute); Wendy Chuck explains the costumes of Twilight (Kiss Victoria, she's Irish. Also: NEEDS MOAR BEIGE); a couple of new pics; more new pics here, although it's hard to pick out the new-new ones; Full Photo Gallery of Twilight Male Cast in VMan Magazine (yes, including The Bad Ponytail Vampire that y'all all started going crazy for).

Also, from [livejournal.com profile] spike22fowl: The famous greenhouse scene! You know! The one that... wasn't... in the book. It seems to be taking the place of Bella bitching her way through the hospital in a neck brace after the Death Van, though, so that's all right by me. It also gives us the deathless line, "I had an adrenaline rush. They're very common. You can Google it." (No, really. Watch it with subtitles.) Kristen Stewart also has an excellent Bella-style "GOD I HATE EVERYONE *falls over* " bitchface going, I must say.

(Please notice The Hair staying carefully out of frame, watching for suspicious fangirl activity off-camera.)

Oh please, Mark Wahlberg, grow a sense of humor. If you can't laugh at that performance you gave in The Happening, how do you get through the day? I start giggling every time I watch that clip about you and the pharmacist (mainly because poor Zooey Deschanel just looks so hurt).

Meanwhile, Andy Samberg's delivery of "now I'm going to talk to a chicken" will never not be funny.

Once he recovers from his shame, he will be a stronger person.

Aaah, Lady of Soundtrack Sorrow. Our old friend.
That is a lot of Twilight stuff, for sure. There should've been a lot more beige in those outfits, I agree. Though, I suppose that now after after the lunchroom pic, we can only hope that Edward would be a black-wearing depressive with a big tattoo on his forearm that says "DEATH IS MY SWEET ESCAPE" or something.

Heh, one of the comments on the Jezebel post: "Right, he could be the dude, playing a dude, disguised as another dude."

This is the part where I confess that, beyond reading a couple of stories in high school, I have no particular attachment to Sherlock Holmes (unless you count a fondness for The Great Mouse Detective) so I'll probably go and see this movie expecting little more than some silly fun. That said, the hat does look odd.

You're talking about your current music for the post: Def Leppard's "Love Bites?" Gah, it took me forever to figure this out (if I've indeed got it right).

On the topic of songs that fit twilight. A couple of weeks ago, I was listening to Russian radio on-line and this old (ahem, from the 90s) song came on, and I was like, that's what Edward and Bella should've been dancing to at their wedding!

To give you an idea, the second verse has the lyrics "I'll tell you the secrets of the Universe, become death and give me peace." The chorus goes like this "Happy is a heavy burden, and ungratifying role. You gave me the gift of time. I caused you pain."

I may or may not have envisioned a scene in my head during which Tanya sings this song for the newlyweds as a gift.

Reading the 15M of Troy really brings back memories.

I sprained my ankle on opening night of a play I was doing and had to spend most of the evening with my foot on ice, and then I was in the hospital until 3am. The next day I was sitting at home, unable to do the show, and I was thinking to myself "oh woe is I me I am so depressed *sob sob* what am I going to do with myself?" And lo and behold, Troy was on HBO. Lulz make everything better.

You know ... when I saw, at the very beginning of 'Eleventh Hour' the little blurb about how it's based of a UK TV show, and knowing that another station (NBC, I think it was) has also Americanized the UK's "Life on Mars," the first thing that popped into my head was: "When will they learn that the UK shows are SO MUCH BETTER if you leave them in the UK!"

Seriously, Americans have far too many qualms about what they watch on TV; the Brits may come across as "prim and proper," but they can be down-right gritty when it comes to their TV.

From: [identity profile] velvet4269.livejournal.com
And adding, since I can't edit my comments - and read a little of the blurb about 'Eleventh Hour':

Jerry Bruckheimer's Fringe-esque show about Hood, a "special science adviser to the FBI

Funny, I was thinking the set up was more like Fox's Bones, but not nearly as a) quirky or b) good.

Ughh... I'm still not sure about Sherlock Holmes, yet. Still not sure.

Although, everything RDJr touches lately turns to gold. Also, he is pretty.

Someone in the last link you gave commented that they were rooting for a Hugh Laurie/Stephen Fry combo for Holmes and Watson, and I hadn't even CONSIDERED the awesome possibilities of that. Hugh really would've nailed it.

Ah well. Until it hits the big screen, I await in timid anticipation.

Got to love the complete absence of irony in the statement about "V"

As opposed to following the Nazi Germany metaphor in the original V, Peters explained that this V will show what happens when the masses have blind faith in their leaders

Because that was so totally NOT the Nazi Germany metaphor at all.
