To begin, Miss Freddie has posted her interview with director/producer David Slade (pictured here with her business card. Nor is he the only one...). She was, in fact, my date to the Pannibal last night, in the sense that we sat on Skype all night on the other side of the country and laughed our asses off. [livejournal.com profile] ppyajunebug was actually there, liveblogging under her "pannibal" tag on Tumblr with a number of pictures and short video clips on Vine, because she is awesome. Herewith, various things I collected over the course of the evening:

A few things:

I did, in fact, post Breaking Dawn in Fifteen Minutes, and "A Scene That Must Have Happened" was the running-gag not-gimmick I was referring to earlier. (Y'all, I'm just saying: I completely believe that all of those things must have happened. For some reason, this book/movie was filled with a ton of Fridge Logic moments.) I am very pleased with the way it turned out, actually. I don't think I've ever had so much fun writing one of these before, and there was very little anxiety involved. (I actually think it kicked me into something of a manic episode--I didn't sleep very well and had a hard time eating, but felt GREAT. Or was it coincidence? A lucky moodswing break? Sparkle is the best medicine? I don't know.) Honestly, though, if there was ever a movie suited to a Fifteen Minutes, it was going to be this one. LJ isn't sending me comment notifications at the moment, but I'm trying to keep up with comments and subsequent replies by ENDLESSLY REFRESHING as best I can.

(Raunchiest thing I've ever written, and my mother loves it. And also y'all's comments. God bless.)

Also:

I'm not saying this doesn't creep me the hell out. I'm just saying that the Bloggess wearing a real wolf pelt, head and all, to Breaking Dawn is the best worst thing ever.

"The whole time I had my hand over my face. I was thinking, I cannot legitimately talk about this as an obstetrician."

The Cherpumple piecaken. My sister is considering attempting a pumpchoccan one now.

Nothing to link to on this one, but I have put in an official request for a Pallas cat Webkinz. We shall see.

I have so much to talk about from last week that I've kind of had a mental logjam. But posting pictures of our zoo trip on Tumblr seems a nice way to organize that part, at least.

Foresthouse ("Emily" hereafter) is taking an epic trip around half the country on her way to NADWCON (she's the chair), and while we've been friends for years, we'd never actually met. We decided that this was ridiculous and must be remedied. She stayed with Dayna/queenanthai first, and I think she's currently with Kevin/alliancesjr, so it's sort of a Made of Fail tour. Anyway--I'll get into more of her actual visit later, but last Tuesday, I took her to the zoo first thing that morning. Part of my goal was to run around so much that she would pass out that night and actually be forced to get some sleep instead of letting the convention eat her (Dayna had to confiscate her netbook), and to that end, I took her to the zoo, lunch, X-Men (my second time. Somehow, I survived two more hours of hot guys. Somehow), a visit to our friend Julia's crafts store, dinner, and then a coma back at the hotel. SUCCESS.

But like I said: more on that later. Here are the more entertaining pictures from the zoo, with my image descriptions from Tumblr. Picspam intensive )

@cleolinda: Yes. RT @SmartBitches: Why did watch parts become the defacto shortcut signal to denote steampunk? Can I glue watch parts to, like, my cat and make him steampunk?

@fullofstars: But you have to give him a fancy name. Like Commodore Wiskerbritches of the Honorable SS Biteybits of Litterboxia.

@curryalley: That's silly. Everyone knows steampunk cats wear top hats and monocles.

@cleolinda: What does it say about me that I was like, ah, yes, steampunk cat, I have a picture of that. Would you like it in Pallas?

This was pretty much the most interesting part of my day. Although I would be interested in hearing if anyone's had any experience with an atypical antipsychotic (some of which are also used for depression and bipolar disorder, which is how it came up) like Abilify, Zyprexa, Seroquel, that kind of thing. I'm wary of the blood sugar/metabolic issues (and changes in my medication in general), but it's a possibility.

So. As far as I know, both of my grandmothers are stable.

Marie Claire is a bunch of jackasses who apparently set their "provocative blogger" up to fail for the page views.

And lo, the internet rose up as one and smote them thus.

Pallas cats playing in jack-o'-lanterns make me feel better. (Thanks, @giishu.)

I was able to put up the third signed copy of Movies in Fifteen Minutes for auction, and I am considering doing 1) a Year of Postcards from me, 2) a year from The Littlest Edward, because (as we all know), he is craftsy, and 3) a year from Galadriel, who would be able to drop dark hints about future Secret Life developments.

New Made of Fail episode: It Gets Better. I've just started listening to it, but it seems to be partly about this month's national bullying dialogue, if you will, and the horror genre for Halloween. Note: their January episode just went for $500 at the [profile] foresthouseeyes auction. I don't even know.

Also, you need a plush Wizard of Oz monkey in your life.

HEY LET'S HAVE SOME ACTUAL LINKSPAM.

So, to begin: wow. The auctions at [livejournal.com profile] foresthouseeyes have really taken off. Of note: Kevin and Dayna are offering up the January episode of [livejournal.com profile] made_of_fail_pc; Kevin is offering a Straight Guy Review of a Bad Romance Novel ("Bodice rippers... anything with Fabio on the cover... Pregnesia"); and Dayna is giving up a book that Wil Wheaton signed because apparently she couldn't find a knife sharp enough to hack off one of her own limbs and offer that up. Everything else I keep wanting to go in there and fight people for myself, which is counter-productive to my own budgetary aims, so consider yourself lucky.

I'm still trying to figure out what (besides signed books on the auction comm) I can offer. I just really don't know that I can fulfill a promise to write a Movies in Fifteen Minutes. Shit, I was never able to go back and do Order of the Phoenix, and I wanted to do that. I don't want to promise something I can't deliver, and I'd also like for everyone to be able to read it. On the other hand, a terrible thought did occur to me: I never recapped The Host. And recaps are a lot easier to write. The dread spectre of some kind of recap blogathon, whatever people are interested in me torturing myself with, occurred to me. I'm open to suggestions.

Meanwhile: Valerie and I took little Henry to the zoo today. Guess I who saw there? Spoiler: LOOK AT MY ICON )

I am feeling incredibly sad today. Therefore I bring you a video of a Pallas cat, a chicken on a rope, aerial gymnastics, and faux James Bond music.
