I just went and bought one of the copies! Along with, uh, three time-traveling Viking romance novels.

Anything to help with the Thesis-pain, really.

Thanks for writing this fabulous book that I look forward to reading, Ms. Jones!

1) Time-traveling Vikings for the win.
2) I hear you on the Thesis-pain. My discussion section? Needs to be completely rewritten in the next 10 hours.
3) The book's really good. Enjoy!

I honestly don't know. My theory is that it's worth far more to me, even as a business investment, to get people reading the book, whether they buy it or borrow it or take it out from the library or what.

I should probably read the link before laughing, but...

It's the 'tropical' part that gets me. Not Terrence Howard, I like him. It's just that now I'm imagining Tropic Thunder only Shakespearean...

I really need to look around my local Half Price Books and see if, by any small miracle, they might have a copy.

And, oh God, I nearly threw up in my mouth a little watching the new trailer/TV spot for Star Trek in that one link. Seriously, heavy metal music in Star Trek trailer?!

And why in the hell is Kirk talking like Christian Slater? Look, I realize that Christian Slater was in Star Trek VI, but he wasn't playing Kirk!

My first thought about the Watchmen suicide-viewer was that he'd been holding on long enough to see the film, and once it was done he thought, "Okay, I can die now." I was on my knees sobbing after finishing the LOTR trilogy because fate had allowed me to live long enough to see that, for example. (But I didn't want to kill myself, see.)

Nathan Fillion. HILARIOUS.

I've been watching "Castle" since it came out... I look forward to it every week just because it's a great show.

(although every time I watch it makes me think of how he played Captain Hammer. And then I get into a fit of giggles.)

So I have a question. Is your book sold only in the UK and then half-priced in the US? I'm confused to how it works.

Date: 2009-04-07 04:52 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com
It's published overseas (pretty much anywhere but North America--long story, and I'm working on that), so if it ends up being sold here, it's been imported by specific retailers. Half Price Books is the only retailer here I've heard of actually importing it store-wide, but it doesn't specifically have to be sold at half price.
