I have actually come to accept and even anticipate the Cowboy Bebop movie. It is very confusing. Maybe it's just the promise of being in a movie theater with spaceships, I don't know.

But... but... Keanu can't do Spike's mannerisms correctly. It'll be like when he played Constantine, and totally failed to get the dark, nasty humor of the comic character. Arrrrgh.

I have spent the last few days linking "You have to get out of here. YOUR VAGINA IS HAUNTED." to people. Reactions have ranged from "oh god why" to "that is the greatest thing ever." It is AMAZING.

On the 'horrifying links' front, take a look at this ad for Microsoft Songsmith. (http://nimcraft.wordpress.com/2009/01/09/stop-the-presses-microsoft-songsmith-ad-renders-me-unfit-to-work/) You will soon understand why I have IMed my friends at Microsoft going "what have your people DONE?!"

Ugh. Keanu Reeves as Spike Speigel kinds of ruins everything.

But on the other hand, more Sam Rockwell is always a good thing. So yay!

That Kate Winslet stuff is just absolutely ridiculous. Have they even SEEN the movie?! I'm Jewish and I thought it was an astounding movie. I was so affected by it, I was shaking for a few minutes after and had to hold myself. These critics are idiots. Her character isn't pitiable at all. Ultimately, she's a monster, because she's more ashamed of her "big secret" (no spoilers) than she is of having been a prison guard. In fact, she's not ashamed of the latter at all. How can that be someone who's sympathetic?!

Idiots.

Um yeah, this Last Airbender thing is Not Okay. Rathbone says "I hope the audience can suspend disbelief a little bit." Well, I'm very good at suspending disbelief, but the blatant disregard of the makers of the movie for the underlying themes of the show is what I'm angry about, not how the characters look or anything.

Hi, Cleo. I was wondering if you were aware of this (http://angelene.livejournal.com/1206794.html?mode=reply) (linking my own journal's entry for convenience -- every other relevant-to-the-matter link's posted there) and if you'd mind to, say, share it in your next linkspam or something? I personally love the song/artist and the cause's a good one, isn't it? I was thinking, with a readership as large as yours, maybe it could get shared/posted a significant number of times on LJ? Sorry if I'm "doing this wrong" or something.

Yeah, uh, anyone else having a hard time believing Copon's "I'm happy for Taylor," "I was just kidding around," "I wasn't campaigning (but I would totally love to be in Twilight, just in case anyone from Summit is watching)" routine?

Reading between the lines - Summit called his people to ask WTF is he doing - it sounded like he got the smackdown. Hee! But I'm not worried about him. "Good things are coming his way." There's always CSI: Miami.

He remains a douche, but sadly, this was not as spectacular a response as I was hoping . . .

Well, hearing that McG plans to basically use the Nautilus design from the Disney version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea makes me happy. To me that is the Nautilus and no other design can ever come close.

But Will Smith as Captain Nemo? Absolutely not. He's not even close to being a good choice for Nemo.

Y'know who'd be awesome Nemo? Oded Fehr.

But not Will Smith.
