Whoa. I lay down and closed my eyes for a few moments after dinner, and suddenly it was 10 pm.

Okay--I don't want to name names, but one of the movie sites I use for news items keeps saying things like, "GOD, I am so not interested in this movie AT ALL, it looks so boring and not good and it won't make any money anyway. Here is a trailer, two video clips and a gallery of three dozen pictures." For every other movie. Do you like doing this job or not? Be catty, even, but don't just piss and moan about how you don't care about anything on the market right as you deign to give us the promotional material. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the fact that I do this for fun and I don't have to talk about something if I don't want to--I don't give damn #1 about the Transformers franchise, for example, but I can just include "New Transformers clips" in a list and move on with my life with a minimum of moanage and pissation. Or maybe it's just that--well, I think "enthusiasm" might be counted as one of my most vivid personality traits, so I just don't understand how you can post about movie after movie with "God, this is so stupid and I don't care." At least put your back into some snark, man!

Also, Prop 8 The Musical is phenomenal for three reasons: the number of times I can go "OH SHIT IS THAT _______?" and be correct, Jack Black as Jesus Christ, and Allison Janney miming gay sex with John C. Reilly.

You want in-depth analysis of upcoming films?

I write movie preview articles for this website, and each week I spend hours researching the production history, the director, writer and stars, and the market placement to make a judgment about its potential. In fact, the webmasters specifically DON'T use promo images or the trailers for the exact reason you cite. Boring!

"What's the new black? Mimosa."

I thought mimosa flowers were pink, too...? I'm confused.

And, am I the only person in the world who absolutely loathes the color yellow? Honestly, I don't know what it is about that color, but it drives me insane--it's either far too bright or far too dull/pukey. I can't look at any yellow without squinting and averting my eyes.

"...are ditching the boy-raised-by-apes origin story for a 1930's-set romp with a hefty helping of romance..."

WHYYYYYYYYYY?! Why would they do this to us? Leave Tarzan alone, Hollywood! It's perfect the way it is! And this is coming from someone who was far too busy obsessing over The Lion King to even give Tarzan a second-glance as a kid! (I'm still obsessed with The Lion King. Don't judge.)

My Hollywood OTP forever and ever, bar none.

Like you, I loved the original movie and Sabatini's book, and I would love to see what they could do with it in these modernized times. I'm almost sure that the part where Port Royal is beseiged must have been the inspiration for the "Pirates of the Caribbean" Disney attraction.

Cool. The only thing I have in common with Robert Pattinson: demon eyes. Although *I* have them partly because of the medications I have to take. Hmmmmm.

The neighbors in Salzburg are worried about disruptions from a *The Sound of Music* hotel? You mean, more than the disruptions they already have from *Sound of Music* bus tours all day, every day? Because hand to heart, I think *Sound of Music* is a bigger deal than Mozart in Salzburg. I once stayed in a youth hostel there that had free showings of *Sound of Music* three times a day, and I went, because I was 20 and poorer than dog doo. And now I can never, ever see it again.

***has "The Lonely Goatherd" stuck in head***
