Welcome, MSNBC readers! This is the kind of entry I wrote--still do, obviously--before Twilight ate my brain. I also post the occasional movie parody at [livejournal.com profile] m15m and put out a book of them overseas a couple of years ago. (Yes, I have promised to write "Twilight in Fifteen Minutes" or die trying.) Feel free to friend the journal, comment or lurk as you please, and enjoy your stay!

(Uh, y'all? I went back and looked at one of my old entries, and... the userpic wasn't mine. I'm not even sure who was in the picture. It seems to have eaten my favorite Reiko Shimizu icon--I think I've heard about this kind of glitch before? I'm just saying... if you see an icon that looks out of the ordinary for my style... that's why. It's a glitch. I don't usually have guys in my icons, for example.)

(It might have been Jackson Rathbone? Even Livejournal glitches know that I write about Twilight? I'm kind of scared now?)

I keep meaning to post variations on this story and forget, so: Ancient Vampire Killing Kit Sells For 15K. (How is the garlic still fresh?) For those of y'all who remember the Black Ribbon novel I'm still working on--man, I would love one of those.

I've been told the userpic thing is a glitch. I don't know if that's true or not, but it's been going on for a while. :(

I know little to nothing about Star Trek, except that what anyone with a knowledge of pop culture knows, so... sure, probably. It might be a good trade-off to go see it with the guy friend who I have roped into seeing Twilight with me on Saturday.

It's a bug with the system used to cache userpics. Developers are on it, but it's proving elusive so far. If you had an userpic replaced, go open a Support request with the exact URL of the replaced userpic - someone will flag it appropriately and developers will give the server a kick to force it to show you the proper userpic.

Forgive me, it's not even a Twilight post.

Favourite Twilight quote of the day:
"...In addition to Edward, their make-shift family consists of Carlisle's wife, Esme (Elizabeth Reaser), along with 'kids' Emmett (Kellan Lutz), Alice (Ashley Greene), who can see the future; Renesmee (Nikki Reed), who's no fan of Bella; and Jasper Hale (Jackson Rathbone)."

Yes, that is right, Renesmee. My local free-daily newspaper is obviously getting ahead of itself.

Also, from the same newspaper, I've learned that SMeyer has a cameo halfway through the movie. Have you heard anything else?

I got to play an hour-long edition of Horrify the Twilight Noobs the other day. It involved ice cream by the end. My cousin couldn't grasp how Edward managed to procreate. The look on her face was priceless.

Oh, sweet hopscotching Christ dipped in chocolate, a House of Night movie? So are they going to reveal in the first movie that Zoey's a colossal Mary Sue or are they going to stretch it out for a few movies before they finally can't hold it in any longer?

I mean, I'm hooked on the books, but I also know it's my tragic embarrassing burden to bear. Aw, poor public.

Also, I've been assembling the Twilight soundtrack at work for the past two weeks. Seeing that thing going past me on the belts for two whole shifts is impeding my desire to go even for the LULZ.

What's really sad is that I absolutely LOVE a lot of the People in Valkyrie. Eddie Izzard, Bill Nighy and Kenneth Branagh? AWESOME. The fact that the movie looks mediocre and stars one of my least favorite actors ever? SADFACE.

I can't tell if I am going to love or really hate Australia, since Baz always seems to make me love or loathe anything he does (Romeo and Juliet, loathe; Moulin Rouge, LOVE).

I've read this article five times and I still don't understand WTF the writer is on about.

Also, I am getting so excited for the Trek movie. I didn't think I would, since I checked out of Trek fandom sometime around the middle of Voyager, but dammit - Abrams is sucking me back in.

When I saw the trailer to Valkyrie I felt there was something off about the movie as well. I think it has to do with seeing Tom Cruise as anything other than an American, I'm not sure.

Emma Thompson is awesome. She won me over when she described her naked, piano-defiling sex scene with Jeff Goldblum in THE TALL GUY as "F***ing liberating and loads of fun!" and insisted on naming her lesbian guest character on ELLEN "Emma Thompson" so that people would be confused into thinking she is one in real life!

Heath Ledger: Questioanable timing and taste- though to be fair, he *was* a famously awful interviewee at least over here- single word answers, grumpy moods, deliberate obtuse responses and all..

Dinsey's MOST ANNOYING MAN: It has to star Jack Black, right? Or David Spade? Ricky Gervais? *g*

The userpic thing is a problem with the way userpics are cached - a telling thing would be that some people would see the correct userpic, and others the changed one. Go open a Support request with the URL to the userpic in question, someone will give the server a kick force a cache-flush so that you see the right one again.

Re Dragonball: I cannot believe they're spending money to make that. Then again, it looks goofy enough to be the old Dragonball and not the SUPAHARDCORERAAAR DBZ.

I started watching TrueBlood with the Chinese subtitles. Wow, with the way this was advertised, I thought it was going to be some sleek urban gothic affair. It takes so long to load an ep, though, it's a pain in the butt when I get to the end of what's loaded and have to wait a few minutes for the next few lines. Oh, and I'm sick of orgasm faces and wild almost-porno, even though a certain doofus does have nice hips.
