Today, I am full of French onion soup and accomplishment. Really full. I have a few screencaps to make (I want to link to visual evidence of some of this weirdness), but other than that, I'm putting the Van Helsing footnotes to bed. Exciting. Which means I get to plow on through the list chronologically and keep going until I hit another unfootnoted patch, and hopefully work through the entire set UNTIL THEY ARE DONE, OMG.

A weird little sidenote: I've been trying out different old BPAL favorites as room scents, and even though Fae is a pretty bubbly scent (bergamot, heliotrope and peach, I think?), I haven't been all that productive this week. Then I put out Siren (ginger, jasmine, vanilla and apricot), and suddenly I'm getting a lot more done. Could be a coincidence, I don't know.

OH OH OH I KNEW I WAS FORGETTING SOMETHING: Today's flashback is (the oddly prescient... kind of) MyScene Lindsay Lohan entry. I even went through and freshened up all the picture links (well, except for one, and I have no idea what it originally was).

Unless Bioware has somehow completely lost it, SW:TOR will be exponentially better than the current MMO. (Which, look. I'm a huge Star Wars fangirl, but Galaxies is more boring than dental surgery.)

I am very excited about this, actually, KotOR was about the only SW game I ever really liked, and I've always been a fan of Bioware's games.

Good lord the sombrero. I'm starting to think that being stoned out of his gourd 24-7 is the smartest thing he could possibly do. How else could he just shrug something like that off?

I like Hanson and I don't care what anyone says. Unless it's that all their songs kind of sound pretty much the same, which is a valid point.

Me too. Although that can be a valid point. Not as much anymore, with the new CD, but still, haha. That is why I prefer them live. Anyway I think they're doing a good thing which is more than a lot of "musicians" these days.

I'm doing the Hanson walk and show tomorrow in Poughkeepsie, NY. SO excited :) They are wonderful. I believe they are coming to B'ham as well ;)

This is OT, but whenever I think of you living in B'ham I always envision you living in Mountain Brook. Not sure why, haha. My grandfather lives right down the street from the Summit so I have these weird nostalgic moments when you talk about going to the Summit and what not. Man, I haven't been there in ages. I kinda miss that area :/ OK DONE with the creepiness lol ♥

Heh, you're close. I'm in a suburb next door (I probably shouldn't specify, in case anyone crazy is reading), but I end up in Mountain Brook a good bit for errands or whatever. In fact, I wrote one time about this magical doll shop I stumbled across, and that was in Mountain Brook. I also end up at the Vestavia Rave a lot, and in Hoover because all of my college friends went to high school there. But I actually live in a different suburb from all of them. Across the woods from a private college, I'll put that way.

I've noticed that it seems like a lot of these blogs you link to -- MTV especially, maybe EW? Always try to end their entries with some clever variation on "Well, what do you think?" in an effort to get comments. And I think this is a very telling sign of the blogger being unfamiliar with the medium, thinking "we got to get them kids on this here interactive media to, you know, interact!" When really all you have to do is give people the *option* to comment, and you'll never get rid of them. (See: YouTube.)

Date: 2008-10-24 11:15 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com
Yeah, it's a really obvious Blogger 101 kind of thing. Ironically, "Hey! Tell us what you think!" makes me less likely to comment, because I feel like they're watching me. Like, I had better think of something really good to say, as opposed to just firing off a casual comment, which is all they really want anyway.

The only time I ever do that is when I specifically have a question ("Help! I need hangover cures!") or I mention several things and want to encourage people to weigh in on one specific thing, if nothing else.
