The Shorty Awards at Twitter: Please notice that Stephen Fry is somehow not winning the Humor category. I demand that this be rectified immediately. Also, winners will give 140-character speeches in New York. I'm not even making that up. You know you want him to be there.

(Full disclosure: I have received one vote in this category. Reading over my twits or tweets or whatever they are--they are really not award material. They are "random thoughts I now don't have to squeeze into a linkspam post." So this is not a beg for nominations. However, if you would like to nominate my friend David in the social media category--he writes for AdFreak and has his own blog, The Social Path--feel free to do so, because he really does deserve it.)

If he is up for Aro then you won't get to see him sparkle I'm pretty sure. Aro&friends threaten to kill Edward for threatening to sparkle ... so...

By the way, what's the deal with the lipstick? Can you translate why this is funny for someone who knows nothing about lipstick?

Date: 2008-12-17 05:53 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com
It's funny because we were all joking about how they must have put lipstick on Robert Pattinson in the movie, and then it turns out they really did? And I found proof of it (i.e., the specific name and brand)? I mean... that's really all it is. There's nothing specifically funny about it being this brand or the other. Benefit's great and all.

Apparently the makeup artist put a cranberry Noriko gloss on everyone as well, so I'm wondering if that's actually what people need to get. Of course, I then looked it up, and it seems like you can't actually buy it online.

Dr. Horrible was a huge success. :D Because Dr. Horrible is made of shiny, happy things. (I hear the DVD is going to have musical commentary?! Eeee.) I feel a little guilty because I have never ever heard of Delgo, but I guess...I'm not the only one.

STEPHEN FRY IS A GOD. All should love him and despair!! Fools. (I painstakingly transcribed this whole quote (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1090278/quotes) from Kenneth Branagh from "Stephen Fry: 50 Not Out" because I thought it was outstanding.)

I never even heard of Delgo until I saw it on Rotten Tomatoes. That is oddly sad.

R-Pattz kind of already is one of the Sparrows. Oddly pretty, unwashed, hilarious, often prone to the mumblies, scared of hysterical shrieking fangirls/undead pirates (same thing, really)...I would love it. SO MUCH.

Okay, I must have missed one of the original posts about this, but I have got to know: HOW are people getting these Coraline Boxes of Mystery?

Date: 2008-12-17 06:01 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com
You know, I really don't know. Apparently the Coraline people picked 50 bloggers for reasons known only to them and started sending them out--I got an email asking if I'd accept one and gave them my address. Each box seems to have been tailored to the site or blogger in some way, and with a personalized letter--I think "girl power" was the theme they went with for me, but a gothic site, a knitting blog, a Neil Gaiman fan, an animation archive, all kinds of people got them, based on whichever way the production company chose to relate the movie to them. I haven't seen all fifty, but I have a link around here somewhere to a blog that was cataloguing all reports of boxes (including mine). I have no idea how they knew about me or how I made the cut.

Thanks for reminding me that I desperately want Rouge d' Enfer (http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P2865&categoryId=C10476), but I can't spend 24 bucks on lipstick right now without feeling like a fool. :(

Also, am I alone in thinking that RPattz could work as Jack's brother? But more along the lines of being the black sheep of the Sparrow family, i.e. the one who went "straight" (and filling in the straight man role that Will was in during the previous movies). Yeah, I think it's almost certainly a false rumor but I might have been drinking a little and that little plot idea probably won't sound so good tomorrow, but it kind of does right now...

And the supposed reason why Brand was taken out of the running is hilarious.
