You know, actually? I did scream while reading Midnight Sun. I really, genuinely screamed "AHHHHHHH! JESUS H. CHRIST!" out loud when I got to the part about the rocking chair. Like, so loud that my dogs started barking. I think I might have also screamed when I put two and two together and realized that random line about Bella's window not sticking in Twilight was secretly referring to Edward oiling it.

Wait, you know what? I also screamed a couple of times when I was reading Breaking Dawn. Specifically, "IS SHE PREGNANT?!" and "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?"

Oh, my God, the Sims 2 thing really HAS been epic. All I can say is 1) you had to be there, and 2) I fully expect there to be a lot about it on the LJ community simsecret later this evening, assuming that is not hacked into again and all the "secrets" deleted as they were last month.

The only reason I didn't scream while I was reading *Breaking Dawn* is that I was reading it on an airplane. Does Catherine Hardwicke mean . . .they're thinking about filming *Breaking Dawn*? Poor, poor, Robert Pattinson.

Also, I just, as in about twenty minutes ago, received a totally unsolicited early Christmas package containing one (1) Barbie dressed as Tippy Hedren from *The Birds.* With birds. I don't even collect Barbies, but I thought you'd be interested to know.

Yunno, as much as I can't see how they'll make BD work, I really hope they do--and that everyone signs on for it. Mostly because I really hate when a series isn't finished. *stares forlornly at The Golden Compass DVD*

There's been a lot of it on Simsecret already.
It's all over the place, GoS, MATY....

Basically, InSim is a cool mod, the 'owners' of the site disappear for months at a time, reappear to beg for money, 'or else', then suddenly sell the site without warning to some oldish guy who knows nothing about Sims2 and is a condescending ass to anyone who dares ask what's going on, ensue mass defection of users/uploaders to the site FROM and subsequent meltdown of the site servers.

I was screaming with laughter reading the books, I wonder if that counts.

I have lots of people on my flist who use Twitter that export their posts to LJ using LoudTwitter (http://www.loudtwitter.com/). It does just one daily post directly to your lj.

Yeah, I've seen that--I kind of didn't want to do that, though. Didn't want to clutter up people's f-lists with Twitter stuff. This way, I figure, you can add the Twitter feed separately from my journal if you want both.

I am perfectly willing to reserve judgement on The Reader until I, you know, SEE it - though how wrong CAN you go with Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes? - but I would deeply appreciate it if some people would learn the following differences: 1) between paedophilia and ephebophilia; 2) between a 15-yr-old character and an 18-yr-old actor; 3) between starring in a film and advocating your character's ideals. I would not think these are very difficult concepts, and it would definitely make life much easier for my desk as I stumble upon such reviews.

Does it drive you nuts when a bunch of people send you the same links, or is it just par for the course? My initial thought was, "Oh, hey, I bet people are sending that to Cleo," which stops me 99% of the time, but my second thought was, "But what if everybody thinks that, and so no one sends it?"

Anyway, sorry for the spam, as it were: have an Amanda Palmer video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ER0sP9mcdo) instead. I don't know if you'll like it, but it's been my favorite for the past few days.

Well, a little--sometimes it's links I've already posted, or links I wouldn't ever post anyway, or links I've already flagged for the night's linkspam, or links eight people have already given me today. But then sometimes people bring links I really am glad to get, so you kind of have to take it as it comes.

(Heh, thanks.)

Me too! Or rather, I didn't really get how to play with Barbies. I arranged them prettily in their little Barbie house and went on to draw and read and build stuff with Legos and Duplo. I was kind of astounded a few years later to see other girls giving their dolls haircuts and voices and imaginary lives and all; my brain just didn't work that way.

They sound nothing alike. I put both on at the same time--nothing. So, unless Satriani freaked out because, omg, they both used ~guitars~, I don't see what he's complaining about.

Also, I totally screamed when Bella became pregnant, and then when the baby broke her pelvis. And both times, especially at the latter, it was a scream of WHAT THE FUCKERY?!".

See, there's no way in hell I'm seeing the Punisher movie in theaters, but based on reviews like this (http://chud.com/articles/articles/17245/1/REVIEW-PUNISHER---WAR-ZONE/Page1.html) I might torrent it at some point just because of the level of over the top absurdity.

I've always loved the Punisher - the gleeful 13-year-old boy inside me who wants to shoot all the motherfuckers (oh, Wanted, I am going to be quoting "Shoot this motherfucker" for weeks) is probably to blame - and this looks like it's at least trying to live up to the dark, ridiculous humor that Ennis sometimes infused his comics with (the gritty narration as Frank punches a polar bear in the face so it will eat some mobsters, for example). I don't think it's really going for the Max feel, in the sense that Ennis wasn't really playing Max for over the top laughs much of the time (The Slavers is one of the darkest comic arcs I've ever read). But as an exercise in "Frank did what now?" it looks like it might be worth watching if you can turn your brain off.

On the other hand, I'm not a fan of slasher films, so I'm not sure if all the on-screen face explody will bother me more than it did on the comics page.

But mostly I screamed reading the last HP book. I was on a plane and even so I couldn't help myself. "OH NO, HEDWIG! OMG GEORGE'S EAR!!! NOOO WHY IS EVERYBODY DYING?" Ya know.

Those go from November 2007 to November 2008, by the way. By the time an appeal was announced, I was just like, "The hell with this, I'm out."

Fortunately, it wrapped up pretty quickly after that. The appeal was withdrawn this last week, and the rewritten Lexicon will come out in January. So... pretty much all of that happened for nothing, because we could have had the exact same result if they'd just rewritten the book in the first place.
