Tuesday night, zzzzzzz
Oct. 16th, 2007 08:57 pmHmm. I can't say exactly how much I got done today, since it was in scattershot places, but it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 2000-2500 words, so: good times. I'm actually feeling really wiped out this week, which either means that I'm fighting off some kind of incipient cold or it's a hormonal thing--I have tons of laundry to do and trash to take out, and it's all I can do to peck away at the laptop. (Upside: Sci-Fi was running a small X-Files marathon today, including "Bad Blood," "The Post-Modern Prometheus," "Home," and a Doggett-Reyes episode that I pointedly ignored. It was one of my better days for background television.)
Meanwhile, my mother, bless her heart (and I mean that sincerely, not in a Southern Snark way) is driving me crazy. ( So is it almost finished? )
Anyway, I am deeply of the tired, so I have only a tiny spot of linkspam for you today: ( Read more... )

Heroine Addiction
Feb. 7th, 2004 01:27 pmUpdate: Batch 2 is here.
All right, a more cheerful entry.
After talking to a few people, I made several more "Heroine Addict" icons. My strength in making graphics, as most of you have probably figured out, is simplicity. (Ha.) I'd like to think of it as a feminist (see: "Yes, You Are") sort of meme. Pass 'em on, make your own, make them better, add more, bring 'em here and show me. Take heroines from graphic novels, anime, cartoons, theater, movies, comics, I don't care. But if you make them, I'd love to see them, so come back and comment.
Oh, and leave more requests/suggestions if you have any.
Requests, arranged somewhat randomly:
Lord of the Rings ( Read more... )
L-R, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean (2), In America ( Read more... )
X-Men ( Read more... )
L-R: League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (comic), Monsters Inc., Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (still looking for a decent Michelle Yeoh picture), Whale Rider ( Read more... )
L-R: Star Wars prequels (2), Mists of Avalon, Run Lola Run ( Read more... )
Special bonus: Heroines from movies that haven't even come out yet!
L-R: Episode III, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, King Arthur, Phantom of the Opera ( Read more... )
Thoughts on serials great and small
Sep. 24th, 2003 10:52 pmReposted from my old Easyjournal:
God, I'm so tired I can't even sleep. I was a basketcase yesterday, trying to get 20 pages of Black Ribbon (first installment) ready for workshop, and then I realized I hadn't even explained why the story is called "The Black Ribbon" (you don't find out until the second or third installment--depends on how the installments are going to be divided). And now I don't know how I'm dividing the installments--I have about 75 pages, but it'll probably be closer to 100 by the time I'm done, so roughly 20 pages an installment, right? Well, there are specific points in the story that are just begging for a cliffhanger cut, but... there's only three of them. And they're not evenly spaced. And I don't know what to do. I've got to put up BR#1 October 3, and I thought, gee, I'll have extra prep time if I need it for subsequent installments, but... how will I know where to cut things if the whole thing isn't finished?
( Out of order write I desperately )
