Still not a full linkspam, because--while I'm dealing with the med changes a lot better now--I'm kind of going through a chills-and-pseudo-fever stage. This normal, not a problem (nor an actual fever), but it's not the funnest thing in the world, either. However, a few interesting things have come out:

Bryce Dallas Howard Replaces Rachelle Lefevre in 'Twilight: Eclipse'; Lefevre ‘stunned’ by losing ‘Eclipse’ role; riots in the tweets. Okay, I have NO IDEA what is going on with this, because Lefevre's statement seems to indicate that it was not a genuine schedule conflict, but if it wasn't--why recast the villain three movies in? (And she was actually a good Victoria! A fierce bitch even, I daresay! This is not Katie Holmes in the Batman franchise here!) I mean, I actually really like Bryce Dallas Howard, but it's not like she's a gigantic box office draw or something--what does Summit have to gain by pissing off the fans who actually care and not really exciting anyone who doesn't?

ETA: Wait, it was about money? So they got someone more famous? WHAT?

ETA: We need the entertainment law equivalent of my mother, y/y?

ETA: Summit responds in the pissiest way possible.

Rachelle Lefevre was literally the only thing I liked about that entire stupid franchise. Now we're officially fucking finished, Twilight. You and me, we're done professionally.

Oh, well. It means that she can go on to do bigger and better, and leave this shit behind in the dust. Bryce Dallas Howard, in the meantime, is as bad an actress as one can find outside of Ryan Reynolds' marriage bed, so she and Twilight deserve one another.

I'm baffled by what Summit is trying to pull here. It seems like shenanigans to me. It's not like Howard has some huge fan base and they gain nothing by her playing a minor character who was already being played just fine. I could have understood the Jacob recasting, but this just seems like playground politics.

My cousin and I just had an email discussion on the RPattz "axe murderer" thing. Personally, I think Edward's too chivalrous to be a murderer. My cousin then wondered what SMeyer must be thinking with Rob ripping her character apart. My take: SMeyer's curled up in a corner, hugging Midnight Sun to her chest, and saying, "Shh...It's okay, Mommy's here. Shhhh...."

“If Edward wasn’t a fictional character and you met him in reality he is like one of those guys who would probably be an axe murderer or something.”

God, I love you RPattz! :p

1) Victoria is the only good thing about the Twilight movies aside from the lulz.

2) Although Ben Barns is undeniably a pretty, pretty man, Dorian Gray is supposed to be blonde! He already had to suffer the indignity of being brunet in League of Extraordinary Gentleman (although Stuart Townsend definitely brought the sleaze it required).

I cant say Im surprised by the Dorian Grey trailer. The old movie version of the book, took out the homoeroticism aspect as well. I figured this movie was going to do the same considering they actually have a female lead in it.However......am still looking forward to it like none other. *drools slightly over Ben Barnes*

Heh. My mind immediately went to the weird rubber-faced-furry-suit nightmares, and I wondered who should play the Lorax. He would have to be short, portly, and mustachioed, with a dire, authoritative voice.

Well, alot of illustrations and book covers of Dorian have had him a brunette, and I'd assume the sad reason being based on pop culture: Hot guy with blonde hair and angelic features=There's no way he could be evil! Hot guy with dark hair and chiseled features=much easier to see him turning evil. (And yes, that's the ironic point the casting director completely missed out on.)

The "We want Rachelle in Eclipse" (http://www.petitiononline.com/rach3cli/petition.html) petition already has nearly 2300 signatures. I signed it because wtf, she actually FITS the part. We all know that some people are the polar opposite of who they were cast as, and they're still reporting for duty come August... but someone who is universally loved among fans is let go. Yes, that makes all kinds of sense.

Yunno, I was a little worried that Ben Barnes wouldn't be sexy enough to play Dorian Grey (I'm still in love with Stuart Townsend's Dorian Grey in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, because NO ONE COULD POSSIBLY BE PURE SEX LIKE HIM), but then... I saw that trailer, and... oh my god. Not Pure Sex like Stuart, but... oh my god. I am suddenly a lot more interested.

I was also seriously confused about the Lefevre thing, 'cause I could've sworn she died at the end of New Moon, until I realized, duh, New Moon is all about Edward leaving. Those books are so generic I mixed the end of Eclipse with the beginning of New Moon. lol I had to seriously pull the book off the shelf and shuffle through the end to realize that, though. xD

Well, we could already tell from the way he chewed the scenery and played Edward as a drawler and a "spider monkey"-coiner that he doesn't like the character.
