Still not a full linkspam, because--while I'm dealing with the med changes a lot better now--I'm kind of going through a chills-and-pseudo-fever stage. This normal, not a problem (nor an actual fever), but it's not the funnest thing in the world, either. However, a few interesting things have come out:
Bryce Dallas Howard Replaces Rachelle Lefevre in 'Twilight: Eclipse'; Lefevre ‘stunned’ by losing ‘Eclipse’ role; riots in the tweets. Okay, I have NO IDEA what is going on with this, because Lefevre's statement seems to indicate that it was not a genuine schedule conflict, but if it wasn't--why recast the villain three movies in? (And she was actually a good Victoria! A fierce bitch even, I daresay! This is not Katie Holmes in the Batman franchise here!) I mean, I actually really like Bryce Dallas Howard, but it's not like she's a gigantic box office draw or something--what does Summit have to gain by pissing off the fans who actually care and not really exciting anyone who doesn't?
ETA: Wait, it was about money? So they got someone more famous? WHAT?
ETA: We need the entertainment law equivalent of my mother, y/y?
ETA: Summit responds in the pissiest way possible.
Meanwhile, 'New Moon' Star Robert Pattinson: In Real Life, Edward Cullen 'Would Be An Axe Murderer.'
Michael Sheen Cast as 'Tron Legacy' Villain and Pictured as 'New Moon's Aro.
J.R.R Tolkien Estate Sues to Block "The Hobbit" Adaptation; 'The Lord Of The Rings' Extended Edition Blu-Ray Discs Still More Than A Year Away. I would imagine they'd arrive in 2011, for the ten-year anniversary of FOTR. Yes, you may commence feeling old now.
Third Narnia Film Starts Principal Photography.
'Dorian Gray' Trailer: Prince Caspian Lays Some Babes. ... I'm not sure that's what the book is actually about.
Wolfman Trapped in Release Date Curse; Wolfman Rumors Running Rampant; Universal Comments on Wolfman Move. I'm just saying: February is kind of a dumping ground. This does not sound good.
'Iron Man 2' Set Visit Reveals Inner Demons, An Energy Crisis And More Trouble For Tony Stark.
Zhang Yimou Plans Chinese Remake Of Coen Brothers' 'Blood Simple.'
Dr. Seuss' The Lorax Coming to the Big Screen.
Rachel Weisz Gets Stellar Reviews In ‘A Streetcar Named Desire.’
Vulture Taste Test: Tru Blood. "The drink itself is fizzy, tangy, surprisingly drinkable. Some sorority girl is going to love mixing it with her double-vodka Red Bull." Hell, I'd drink it.

Date: 2009-07-30 12:43 am (UTC)Oh, well. It means that she can go on to do bigger and better, and leave this shit behind in the dust. Bryce Dallas Howard, in the meantime, is as bad an actress as one can find outside of Ryan Reynolds' marriage bed, so she and Twilight deserve one another.

You know what this means? I've been in online fandom for... *counts again* nearly twelve years. That's a little scary.

Time for a rewatch of the Special Extended Editions! Who's with me? :D
Dr. Seuss' The Lorax Coming to the Big Screen.
I swear to god, if they fuck this up I will fuck them up just as bad. The Lorax is my favorite Seuss book and I swear...

Date: 2009-07-30 01:18 am (UTC)2) Although Ben Barns is undeniably a pretty, pretty man, Dorian Gray is supposed to be blonde! He already had to suffer the indignity of being brunet in League of Extraordinary Gentleman (although Stuart Townsend definitely brought the sleaze it required).

We need the entertainment law equivalent of my mother, y/y?
So much win here. You dont even know.
Oh look! Another reason on my long reason to love Robert Pattinson.
NOOOOOOO. Not the Hobbit! I needs it!
Oh god, I do feel old now. And Im not even old!I cant say Im surprised by the Dorian Grey trailer. The old movie version of the book, took out the homoeroticism aspect as well. I figured this movie was going to do the same considering they actually have a female lead in it.However......am still looking forward to it like none other. *drools slightly over Ben Barnes*

Date: 2009-07-30 03:34 am (UTC)Heh. My mind immediately went to the weird rubber-faced-furry-suit nightmares, and I wondered who should play the Lorax. He would have to be short, portly, and mustachioed, with a dire, authoritative voice.
Then I knew:

Date: 2009-07-30 01:41 am (UTC)i'm really worried about dorian gray... i have a feeling it's going to suck for people who are fans of the book, primarily because, well... ben barnes doesn't even look anything like dorian, and when it comes to wilde, aesthetics are everything. i mean, i'll probably see it, nonetheless, but it's just disappointing.

Date: 2009-07-30 09:37 pm (UTC)She really does fit the part. I thought it was hilarious that it was her climbing on the back of a chair and growling at Hardwicke that landed her the gig. Slight insanity always gets my vote.

Date: 2009-07-30 01:57 am (UTC)I was also seriously confused about the Lefevre thing, 'cause I could've sworn she died at the end of New Moon, until I realized, duh, New Moon is all about Edward leaving. Those books are so generic I mixed the end of Eclipse with the beginning of New Moon. lol I had to seriously pull the book off the shelf and shuffle through the end to realize that, though. xD

Date: 2009-07-30 02:05 am (UTC)Well, we could already tell from the way he chewed the scenery and played Edward as a drawler and a "spider monkey"-coiner that he doesn't like the character.
LOL, I can't believe he got away with some of that, actually.
Well, maybe he always chews the scenery; I don't know. Cedric was fine.
