OOAK EDWARD CULLEN & BELLA SWAN!" Which should raise the resemblance stakes considerably.
And yes, I did link the Robert Pattinson GQ interview in the last linkspam ("Somebody got pictures of him anyway. Hidden in the darkness! Like some kind of Hamburglar!"). So I was at EW.com reading the next-to-last BSG recap (sob), and I happened to see a link to a story about the RPattz GQ interview. They basically liveblogged the article.

Look, the original was not a great film. (Don't even get me started on Bubo the Komic Relief Robo-Owl) But the original had Ray Harryhausen's special effects and Maggie Smith as the "villainous" goddess. This remake will no doubt have the same shitty CGI effects as always and a cast of beautiful people who will make Harry Hamlin look like Johnny Depp by comparison.
Come on, Hollywood! Do you realize how many other awesome Greek myths are out there that haven't gotten a much-deserved big-screen treatment? (Or at least, not a good one) Theseus and the Minotaur, Bellerophon and the Chimaera, The Odyssey, and The Seven Labors of Heracles/Hercules?
Seriously, remaking a Harryhausen film is like...well, remaking King Kong and taking out all the dinosaurs. Nobody went to see the original King Kong to see a gorilla make google-eyes at a vapid actress for nearly two hours, they went to see Kong fight dinosaurs and then wreck the shit out of New York. That's why nobody likes the 1976 version.
Nobody went to Harryhausen films for the acting and the writing, they went to see what the Hell kind of bad-ass bizarre creation Harryhausen would toss up onto the screen next.

This is, after all, the same industry that felt that Hulk needed to be "rebooted" a mere five years later.
Man, the makers of Godzilla would look at Hollywood these days and go, "Dude, go easy on the reboots!"

God knows how mortifying they're making Pennywise T_______T
Paris Hilton in a Twilight movie would make me so much more happy than the Twitards already make me feel sometimes. It'll just get LOLtastic from there.
Also, I don't know if you've mentioned this in the last linkspam, but have you watched the first episode of Twilight the Musical yet?
My tears are poring from the lol. I'm still unsure if we're supposed to be lol'ing. XD

I do think he didn't quite go in for the kill, though--watching Cramer squirm, what I really wanted someone to say was, "You're shown on tape telling someone how to manipulate the market. I cannot believe anything you say from here on out." I mean, he pointed this out, but didn't quite go for the fatality there. The closest he got was, "I want this Jim Cramer to protect me from that Jim Cramer."

if sofia coppola is "one of [your] favorite directors", then why don't you spell her name right? also, thank you for alerting me to the fact that she has a vagina. this was something i didn't know before.

There's actually quite a bit of idiocy in that list. Jon Favreau mentions that Seven Samurai was remade into "Roger Corman's The Last Starfighter". No, Jon, you mean Roger Corman's Battle Beyond the Stars. Corman had nothing to do with The Last Starfighter, and I don't think it had any true resemblance to Seven Samurai, either.

The Damon link reminds me, I can't find my Bourne Ultimatum DVD anywhere! GAH!
I'm so confused by the Airbender movie - why are they re-hashing the plot of the show? Couldn't they do a new movie, including Zuko's quest for his mother or something? I...hrm.

Peter S. Brugal made a Mark Twain refrence!! This makes me happy.
That guy really knows his music...
In Argentina ANTHING can happen...ANYTHING!!!
Hipster Twitter thing: OKay, then...
Never got into facebook...
Most of those barbies weren't strange, just awesome.
No Duet: Good. I never want to hear that asshat (Chris Brown) sing again.
True Blood hookers: That sounds like quality tele-vision right thar.
Doctor Who: I want to read about other characters "off hours" too. Maybe this will lead the way?
If Paltrow says it, it's true. And I agree with her (as most ppl do about ole Mr. Phoniex).
I....can't belive Wes Anderson's watched Neon Genesis Evangelion....damn...
That Directv add was somewhat amusing.....I never saw that requiem for a dream crap, but why wasn't I suprised to see anal in it? Oh, I remember why-because movies are gross.
Obessed Joker fan: Ack.
It's CRAZY Gary Oldman. He's CRAZY!!!
G.I. Joe always seemed like it had the POTENTIAL to be cool (to me) but failed. Epicly.
Never heard of 'the goon' b4. Looks intresting.
When I saw the 'barefoot babe' headline, I thought Angie would be playing some redneck, rather than a spy. (I actually know plenty of 'rednecks' and most of them do wear shoes, but still....)
I want to see this movie just for Ginormica....I wonder, will they make a doll of her? ('cuz I want one).
Like the M vs A images.
