Saw Coraline... it was fabulous. Even better than everything I had pictured in my head. The 3d was stunning, the landscape was breathtaking, Coraline was adorable, Wybie was doubly so... just wonderful.

I'm going to show that movie to my kids.

Coraline was awesomely beautiful. I'm a bit sad that attendance was so thin at my theatre, but I'm really hoping that's just because I went to the Twi-Night showing.

I wonder how many people think Tim Burton did this?

Date: 2009-02-07 03:40 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] madeline-may.livejournal.com
It's actually funny... I overheard a person saying, as we left the theater, "Huh... that didn't really feel like a normal Tim Burton movie!" My brother and I had to stifle a giggle.

And I mean, while I certainly don't mind me a good Tim Burton, this movie (besides the fact that it wasn't a Tim Burton) didn't feel like one because it wasn't all, "I'M BEING WEIRD FOR WEIRDNESS' SAKE! ALSO, HERE'S DANNY ELFMAN!"

Also, Johnny Depp wasn't in it, you'd think that'd be a huge giveaway.

'Twilight' for television: The CW orders pilot for 'Vampire Diaries.'

A teenage girl deep inside my soul basically just went, "OH MY GOD OH MY GOD SHRIEK SHRIEK SHRIEK."

Also also, 'Vampire Diaries' is, like, perfect for the CW. Stefan and Damon, the next Winchester brothers (only vampires) y/y?

I wish they'd stop comparing it to Twilight, though, LJ Smith predates SMeyer and is so much better.

Be happy your mom is so cool. I took my parents to see Twilight at the cheap movies tonight (that's the only way they would go). My mother comments were, "They are both wearing the same color lipstick" (o.k., so she was probably right)and "how long IS this movie?"
I rather enjoyed it...again. But thanks for all of your funny links about stuff anyway. You are the pure source for entertainment!

The article about Vampire Diaries just really makes me miss Vampire High. That was a pretty good teen vampire TV show. There was a couple on there who were dead ringers for Rosalie and Emmett - the glamorous, blonde, used-to-be royalty Essie and the recently-turned, high-school-jock Karl.

I was so excited (and shocked) when I tuned into Kevin and Bean and heard Christian on the phone. I thought it was a prank at first, but then, I realized it sounded exactly like CB because it really was him. I was glad to hear him say his actions were inexcusable and that he and the DP actually talked things out the day of the incident and are totally cool.

Also? Pirate's Booty shits all over Sun Chips. I can't stand Sun Chips and absolutely die for Pirate's Booty. I'm just so cheap that I can't spring for PB very often.
