Third: For people wondering about what the hell's up with the Bella doll, this is the outfit she's wearing. You only see the peasant blouse in the hotel scene because she's got the jacket zipped up after that. And the doll's actually wearing the brown jacket from another scene (this one. Look at the cuffs). Look, I don't actually care what she's wearing--padawansguide and I just geek out over costumes like whoa on her site sometimes, so I'm used to scrutinizing tiny details like a nutbar. People were just asking, is all.

But here's the thing... I was kind of looking forward to this book being page-turning popcorn, but at about the halfway mark I started feeling this strange, undefined feeling of frustration that went beyond the fact that there seemed to be no plot. I couldn't put my finger on it... and then, it hit me: The book was written in the style of erotica and I was waiting for the sex. So that part of my brain that likes to spank it to bad literotica.com stores... or, you know, that WOULD if I were into that sort of thing *cough*... was impatient to get the show on the road. Subconsciously, my mind was saying "GET TO THE FUCKING ALREADY!" and once my conscious mind figured that out, I was like "This book was written by a Mormon. There will be no fucking." And then, admittedly, I was a little annoyed. I almost wanted to write the sex scenes myself. They would probably go a little something like this:

I swear to God that I own a hoodie almost exactly like Bella's. It doesn't button-up though, and it has a faux-fur lined hood. But it's the same dark brown and is extremely cozy.

Now that it's winter I've been wearing it at the bookstore where I work and combined with my dark brown hair, many Twi-hards have said I look like Bella. I'm always like "Yeah, except my bitchface is because I have to deal with you people and not because I am so self-centered that I cannot possibly be bothered to be civil to people who do not sparkle in the sunlight."

I don't get why, but apparently the apocalypse thing was a Defamer (or Gawker, or whichever site the baby thing was on) article earlier in the same day. I think they link to it in the text.

I was actually trying to find out the origin of the other meme myself, and discussion a few entries back decided that it comes from "Long cat is looooong," which then became "Aggressive cat is aggressive," "defensive cat is defensive," etc.
