We're going to need a bigger post

Okay Stephenie, 'inspiration' does not mean 'stuff you think is fun,' or 'stuff you watch while on the road.' Fail.

[identity profile] miss-eponine.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Stephenie Meyer needs to step off Somewhere in Time.

[identity profile] ellerigbee.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
I'm disappointed in myself for not finding out from Steward. I feel like I've cheated on him.

I can't believe that the same election gave us a new president and completely robbed a group of people of their rights.

But on a lighter note: WTF SM? Seriously, like half way through it just became "Things I Like." I enjoy having House on while I work but do I count it as an influence? Not so much. And there was something about the way she related her work to Bronte. Usually when something preceeds, like Bronte does, one would say there are aspects or characteristics similar to her characters in the newer characters (Like Jane IN Bella or Edward "Crazy Wife in Attic" Rochester IN Edward "Sparkle Pants" Cullen) not the other way around.

(Sorry for just dropping a comment and running, is it alright if I friend you?)

Good for Patrick Dempsey.

I swear that the Grey's Anatomy set has got to be the most tense working environment in television. There seems to always be something going on behind the scenes. One day someone will write a tell all book and it'll talk about all the bitch slappping, hair pulling and poisoning that was going on.

I hope the person who prepared RPattz's cement has a bunker to hunker down in until all the rabid fangirls pass by.

[identity profile] snails228.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
I've been reading your blog for a long time and finally decided to friend you =)

Just when I think she can't, Stephanie Meyer finds new ways to infuriate me. Comparing Bella to Jane Eyre? Did she miss the part in the book where Jane turned down not only Rochester but St. John as well? And tried to become an independent woman?? If Bella was anything like Jane, she would have called both Edward and Jacob on their shit and kicked them to the curb. Gaaaah the woman makes me want to scream.

Also, I am from California and hate the fact that Prop 8 passed. =(

Oh.. also also, Rpattz is for sure my hero. But I fear for his safety.

[identity profile] urizanegao.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
The mental image of Bella first seeing Edward's scintillating, sparkling, dazzling, seraphic, stripper-glittery bare chest in the middle of the Griffith Park golf course just made my day. Thank you for posting that interview.

My buzz was killed when my gay friend was crying over 102 passing here in AZ. I figured since it didn't pass last year, we'd be able to do it again but...people were really militant this year.

I hate to say it, but Stephanie and I have extremely similar taste in music and movies.

The cancer thing... what a coincidence!

My grandma went to he oncologist TODAY and her doctor said that in about five years they will have a way to take care of the kind she has. My aunt said something about a pill, but I just have a hard time believing that particular detail. But I'm sure she wouldn't misunderstand the 'be able to cure this kind of cancer in five years' part.

I just say this is the best line ever in an article:

"Well said you crafty ginger." (the Simon Pegg Zombie io9 thing.)

I plan to use this with alarming frequency.

[identity profile] mogumogu.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
The combination of Twimania and McDreamy in this post made me think "They should just stick in Prince Edward from Enchanted. There, now the story is exciting and not completely acted out in a monotone voice."

(Is Jacob's actor getting any attention? I think he's pretty good looking, especially with that long hair, even if it's a wig or weave. Pattison looks like he's coming down with something, too)

Somehow I feel like I should be trying to scout out the guy for you while he's in New York, but... Ew, crowds.

We're getting new supercable at my house (We FINALLY decided to give up our basic cable with the 20+ year old box that only displays two digits), but we still won't have HBO. I wanna watch TrueBlood... Maybe I should read the books (As soon as I finish this Elric book. ~_~)

i saw it on the daily show too! and i was like ha ha very funny guys! but then we flipped over to nbc and it was REAL! of course i had to stay up til the end to be sure that it was ACTUALLY real unlike 2000 when i went to bed thinking al gore won and woke up the next day and THE WORLD HAD ENDED!

[identity profile] venusad.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
It's sad when a comedy show is the most non-trashy coverage of an election night.

Although, John revealed towards the end that Steven was indeed a hologram.
I knew it!

Really, I was glad I got to see it announced there. None of the other "news" shows had an audience going crazy over it.

Is anyone else getting Twilight burnout? I still love RPattz, but I'm losing any excitement about seeing the movie as it is....I may just wait for the DVD release at this point. I'm not sure I wanna waste 7 bucks to see it...and I'm not sure at this point if anyone will even go with they're so sick of hearing about it. -.-

"Somewhere in Time" was an inspiration for Twilight?

AHAHAHAHAH. That explains a lot. Have you seen that movie? It's the cheesiest movie ever made. It's gloriously cheesy. It's like a slab of cheddar frosted with Velveeta.

(Also, HANDS OFF JANE EYRE, plzkthx. *scowl*)

Regarding GA

[identity profile] clodia-risa.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't watch the show, but my mom does. She didn't like the relationship between the two, not because of TEH GAY, but because she felt that Hahn had started off as a really strong and awesome character and had turned into a old-hollywood wilting flower because of it. Again, I have no idea as I don't watch it, but maybe the altering of the character was annoying enough viewers, or maybe producers? Mom said that they shouldn't fire the actress if they didn't like the way it was going, they should blame the screenwriters.

Anyone else have thoughts on this besides ABC is being homophobic? I mean, they are, but could there have been anything else to go along with this?

[identity profile] sarahspat.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, people, "dazzling" is a completely separate phenomenon from "sparkling." Let's get these things right.

Obviously these people are not as committed to sparkle motion as the rest of us.

Also, the behind the scenes videos are getting really awesome. This movie is going to be epically bad.

This is hilarious, thought I'd share.

This guy has the same impression of RPattz as I do!

You = my hero. I added you as a friend on my old account and stumbled upon your happy little journal by accident again. So I'm friending you yet again. =D I'd be honored if you friended me back. Um. Again.

Okay, I might have missed it in one of your linkspams, but have you seen the Puppycam (http://cdn1.ustream.tv/swf/4/viewer.45.swf?cid=317016)? I have no idea where it came from originally, but my coworker forwarded it to me, and now half our office is obsessed with it. Most of us have it in an open tab and check it throughout the day. Every now and then, the guy next to me will laugh and it is invariably about something the puppies are doing. Another coworker called me earlier and was like, "Are you watching? They're wrestling!" Seriously, it is like our entire department has descended into puppy madness.

What is SM, 12?
