Allegedly there is someone downstairs fixing the fridge (the wrong part came in last time), which sounds promising. But meanwhile! Famous people are out there being GAY and it is SO OUR BUSINESS, the media will have you know:

Clay Aiken: 'Yes, I'm Gay.' World: 'Yes, We Knew'; Clay Aiken is gay? Really? NO KIDDING (EPIC ONTD POST IS EPIC). And somewhere, the collective Claymate breakdown is in progress, I'm sure.

Lindsay Lohan FINALLY Confirms Relationship With Samantha Ronson. "Finally" kind of bugs me here--you know, because she so totally owes us an explanation of her life and needs to get right on that. But, you know. Apparently it's a good day to be gay, so good on them.

Re: Lohan

I keep thinking that they confirmed their relationship a while ago. I mean, yes, places like People already knew since it pretty much started, and people-who-are-not-the-magazine-of-the-same-name generally didn't care then, either. Aside from mentioning that entering a lesbian relationship (or at the very least, that one) was probably the best thing for her, since Ronson's been keeping her on the (so to speak) straight and narrow.

AWESOME -- I have been waiting all day for this post because I knew you'd linkspam this: "'Twilight' fans flock to town for vampire magic"

because then I could post the contents of the email I sent my sister this afternoon when I read the article on CNN........

"Other locations, such as the police station, where Bella's father works, and the hospital, where Edward's father is a doctor, play their own parts. They chipped in, providing cruisers near which fans may take pictures and reserving a spot for "Dr. Cullen" in the parking
lot."

I just can't stop laughing at these articles. Someday, I think, someday Twilight fandom will stop being hysterical. But it hasn't happened yet!

And then I read more of the article, and I got to a bit about "Sully's Drive-In," and I had the terrible, awful, wonderful realization...

I HAVE BEEN TO FORKS, WASHINGTON. I DROVE THROUGH IT WHEN I WAS IN WASHINGTON 3 YEARS AGO.* And I ATE AT SULLY'S. I HAVE ATTACHED PHOTOGRAPHIC PROOF. () (I took the photo because I have a friend named Sully and thought it was amusing. Then I went inside and got a burger. It did not involve pineapple or whatever.)

THIS IS POSSIBLY THE GREATEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME IN THE HISTORY OF EVER

(I didn't go out to the beaches at La Push, because I was on my way from one part of Olympic NP to another. But I did camp on the beach at Kalaloch, which is just down the coast.)

AHAHAHAHA SUCK IT TWILIGHTERS, I ATE AT SULLY'S BEFORE IT WAS COOL**

(not to mention eating there before the book was even published, which, as I found out while making sure of that claim, was on my birthday.)

*note: I am from Alabama and was/am living in Pennsylvania, so it wasn't like this was down the damn road or anything
**note the second: I haven't actually read the books, just your recaps -- else I would have obviously discovered this a lot sooner
From: [identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com
*note: I am from Alabama

Heyyyy, you too? I'm still here, actually.

I haven't actually read the books, just your recaps

Since you haven't, I would like to clarify here that even I don't know what the hell pineapple on the burgers has to do with anything.

reserving a spot for "Dr. Cullen" in the parking
lot.

That really did make me laugh, because it sounded like the dumbass kind of thing I'd want to do in a similar situation, except I'd only want to do it if I thought no one else would get it. Like, "it's just our personal joke here at the hospital."

If it was some dumbass thing people actually flocked to come see, I would still do it. I would just start charging money at that point.

I guess I'll just have to content myself with going over to Union Lake Lake Union (DAMN YOU, STEPHENIE, READ A MAP, AND LEARN TO SPELL YOUR OWN NAME WHILE YOU'RE AT IT SO SAFARI DOESN'T UNDERLINE IT) and reenact the cocktail-dress-and-fake-ID scene. Or, um, something.

'Twilight' fans flock to town for vampire magic

AHHHHH, GET OUT OF MY STATE, YOU CRAZY TWILIGHTERS! I am sooooo glad I'm on the east side right now.

Also: Who is that Samantha chick kidding, saying she loves Forks and can't wait to go back? Was she really there? Or is she on some sort of crack? Because, I'm sorry, Forks is creepy, in the No-One's-Around-To-Hear-You-Scream sort of way, and I can't imagine any sane person actually wanting to go back there.

"This town just has a pretty primal way about it," she said. "It's really a mysterious beauty."

*dies* I sincerely hope that they toured the rest of the west side and don't think the whole thing is long, winding roads surrounded by nothingness. Yes, it's beautiful; yes, I love living there; no, I would not describe it as "primal".

(Though, I feel the need to admit here that the only reason I started reading the books was because they take place in Washington, which is a fairly uncommon occurrence, let me tell ya.)
