omg, the creepy movies. The Neverending Story, Willy Wonka, Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal..these are the movies i still watch over and over, but YES OMG CREEPY.

im not sure how Return to Oz missed the list, though. Or there was this one movie that freaked me the fuck out as a kid..The Peanut Butter Principle? maybe? or The Peanut Butter Solution? All i can remember is its about a kid who put this weird gunk on his hair and his hair grew and grew and grew and then he's laying there unconcious on a bed under all this hair, and someone is cutting it and making PAINTBRUSHES out of it and WHY DOES THIS STILL FREAK ME OUT AAAAAHHH.

Was it the first 'xXx' that had the immortal line, "Bitches, come!"?

12 WEAKEST SCI-FI DEATHS: Right there with them on Cyclops in X3. It killed the film for me- Phoenix saga is hollow without him. And that's not just my huge raging Marsden love talking *g*

SCARY KIDS MOVIES: Word on WATERSHIP DOWN. The scene with the cat freaked me out- "Can you run? I think not" and General Woundwort was f***ed up. What? No PEANUT BUTTER SOLUTION, Disney's PINNOCHIO or DARBY O' GILL AND THE LITTLE PEOPLE?!

Totally right about Cyclops- I get that Wolverine is the main character of the trilogy and I'm a pathetic Hugh Jackman fangirl, but you have to Cyclops there, if only to lead the X-Men, because Wolverine is totally wrong for it and Halle Berry doesn't have the presence. But X3 in general was a total clusterfuck and I like to pretend it never happened.

Nooo, not friggin' Alicia Keys as 355! (They meant 355, right? Because 711 is totally not a main role, and her whole storyline tops my list of "most likely to be cut" bits of the comic.)

Date: 2008-09-16 04:51 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] spectralbovine.livejournal.com
I know! They did mean 355 for Alicia Keys, but I was totally confused at the mention of 711 too because I wasn't expecting her to be in the movie at all. And I was surprised at the author's surprise that Dr. Mann would be in it. That...was a question? WTF.

355 is totally more Angela Bassett, but I think she's too old for the role now? Maybe Sonja Sohn?

I hated that Cyclops died so early in X-Men 3. Yeah, it was shocking, and I liked that the writers had the gall to go through with it, but why couldn't they have done it later on? Where it'd be more traumatic and plot-worthy? I ended up spending the rest of the movie thinking, "He's going to pop up somewhere, nobody dies early on for no good reason without coming back." Not to mention that if they were going to deprive female viewers of one more handsome man they could've at least replaced him with someone else. Like Gambit. (But then there' the dilemma of him being in the Origins: Wolverine movie and since he and Rogue canonically try to get their freak on this would not work because in the X-Men trilogy he would be an older man. Woe.)

Fievel Goes West and Thumbelina were pretty creepy children's movies, but I have to admit the children's movie that scared the most shit out of me was Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland. Can't help but love 'em, though.

I've only just started reading "Y: The Last Man", and LaBeouf seems an odd choice for Yorick, but ever since Ledger's Joker performance I can never question an actor's ability to adapt. Here's hoping.

You know, for fans of Twilight to seem rational and call it "just a book" but then go into such vehement insults and slanders (or, as was pointed out, random acts of violence, WHAT) just... speaks even worse about them, IMO. I feel... I feel compelled to write SMeyer a letter of... of complaint. YES, I SHALL DO THIS. If I get a response, I hope I get some lulz out of it.
