I HAVE A GOLDEN BATMAN TICKET, YAY! We're driving out to Trussville for a 9:30 am showing on Saturday, so it will be an adventure. An adventure with a lot of caffeine.

However, I was dying of a horrendous headache most of the afternoon. I stepped up from 150 mg Lamictal to 175 mg on Monday, and immediately got a headache. Like, within half an hour of taking my meds. Today: same thing, only worse. Obviously, I need to step back down for a while. But there's another possibility: when I cut my Zoloft in half at the beginning of this whole process, my mild, daily headaches immediately stopped. Once again, I'm wondering if this is not Zoloft bringing out the worst in potential Lamictal side effects, and that maybe if I dropped the Zoloft down again--from 50 mg to nothing? I'm already cutting pills in half, I'd reduce them to dust if I cut them into quarters--and kept the Lamictal at 175, I'd be fine. I think I'd have to call my doctor before I tried that, though. I've got to do something, though, because I've been wandering around moaning dramatically all afternoon.

You know, I think that's one of the few books where I wasn't mad that I was tricked into learning things. I've used it as a quick reference before to remind myself of nautical terms, even.

It's really good at that! It was all like, "learning good, but also BE FIERCELY INDEPENDENT WHILE BEING AN AWESOME GIRLY GIRL."

It was just a brilliant book.

YES, PLEASE, IDINA AND KRISTIN FTW! They can shove a few stars into supporting roles if they must, but surely both of those ladies are well-known enough--especially Kristin Chenoweth, *the* breakout star of Pushing Daisies.

They can. But you'll have a better chance if you can find an actual manager and not some underpaid little college student who is going to be all "Yeah RIGHT, I don't want to get punched in the FACE." If I’d been at that performance of Cyrano, the headline would have been “Kline Death Scene Ruined by Real Thing,” because I either would have had an aneurysm or I would have killed that woman with the power of my mind.

More seriously, I’ve always considered the end of Cyrano one of my personal Voight-Kampff tests, so apparently we have at least one skinjob on the loose and attending plays.

If they put Anne Hathaway and Emmy Rossum in the movie version of Wicked I will throw up and subsequently undoubtedly shoot the producers. And then I'll have to go to the big house. But it will be worth it. NO HATHAWAY/ROSSUM. Anyone, even frickin' RENEE ZELLWEGER, WHOM I HATE, WOULD BE BETTER.

Bleah - I'm just waiting for the hammer to fall.

From: [identity profile] queenofattolia.livejournal.com
Alas, both ladies are far too old for a movie version. And unfortunately, I have a horrible, sinking suspicion that they'll cast Anne Hathaway and Emmy Rossum, over which I will never stop throwing up.

From: [identity profile] queenofattolia.livejournal.com
Neither will be cast because both are pushing 40, the kiss of death for actresses in Hollywood. The roles will go to actresses in their 20s, who will probably be horrifying.

Didn't De Vito do the Matilda movie? I adore that movie so much (me too!) Yes, yes, he did. Given that it was such a good movie/book adaptation, it seems fair to hope that this will follow suit.

Honestly, I'd like it better if they adapted the book. It was so dark and psychological, I absolutely adored it. I never had a huge interest in the musical, though.

I wasn't sure if you had written about this already (I missed it if you did and am sorry in that case), but Joss Whedon's new internet project, http://drhorrible.com/, with Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, and Felicia Day is about a wanna-be super-villian who is also just trying to get the girl. (free to watch online for a week, I think?)

Also, Sweeney Todd = written by most respected living musical theatre composer who would not people fuck up his shit. Wicked = while being a decent musical, has become teenage fangirl bait on the same level as High School Musical. I don't see it getting the same reverential treatment. (You just know they're going to cast Avril Lavine as Elphaba and Ashley Tinsdale as G(a)linda. *shudders*)

From: [identity profile] azuresquirrel.livejournal.com
OY. To clarify, that's "LET people fuck up his shit", and using "shit" to mean "stuff" because Sweeney Todd is never shit in any form but is always made of win.

Anyone else quaking in fear at the thought of Wicked fandom getting larger and stronger by feeding on the inevitable movie wankage? The Wicked people are, to me, as scary as the Twilighters, what with their Idina vs Eden vs Shoshanna wars and assorted other shenanigans.

I am HIDING when the movie comes out, because while I am a fan of the musical EVEN THOUGH THE BOOK'S TOTALLY BETTER the fandom competes with Harry Potter for sheer batshitery. No matter what happens with it, the wank will be EVERYWHERE.

And Eden Espinosa is still the best and way better than Idina. *is hunted down*
