Nov. 3rd, 2010 08:34 pmYet another day where I am exhausted for no good reason (unless it's the It Is Rainy And I Am Solar-Powered thing again), so I will be brief:
1) As appalled as people were yesterday by the FictionAlley Is Totes a Needy Charity, You Guys blowup, there also seems to be a lot of enthusiasm for voting foranything else many of the other charitable causes (you get more than one vote a day) to get the Pepsi Refresh grant. superri says that she herself is interning for the Fourth Wall Arts Salon, and abbeykins' brother is involved with Green Futures. Feel free to suggest other worthy candidates in the comments.
2) Solely as a doll enthusiast, I am somewhat disappoint in Barbie Dakota Fanningpire. Needs moar eyeliner (and a smaller body--a Skipper?), certainly.
But what this does suggest to me is that Tonner might also make a Jane as well in the near future, if it's a character Mattel would bother with. Which... I still wouldn't buy. But hey. I like to see how these things turn out nonetheless.
Meanwhile, scroll down for some crazy-ass new (newish, certainly) Barbies they're coming out with. Apparently Cleopatra bore a distinct resemblance to Kim Kardashian, I don't know.

Roosevelt to fight Werewolves OKAY, THAT'S ENOUGH.

foresthouse is having her keratoconus eye surgery on Thursday, not some vague indefinite "soon." If you've ever wanted to send me money for writing about movies or dolls or linkspam or what have you--please think about sending it to her instead; her PayPal address is emilyesse @gmail .com (take out the spaces). I mean, there are so many of you here that five dollars would help, if you could. If you'd rather send me money, I'm dailydigest @yahoo .com (and I will turn around and give it to her). And foresthouse herself writesask_deadpool, she co-founded and works on the North American Discworld Convention (NADWCON), and she's my agent and she needs to be able to see to do these things and I don't know what else to do. Except "write faster," maybe.
... I've just now found out that my other grandmother is in the hospital after having been in a car accident. It sounds like she's going to be okay, but she did break some ribs, and they've put her in ICU because of her age.
What's that, Tiny Tim? You need a new crutch? I'm sorry, all I have tonight is linkspam. It's a lot of good stuff, but pretty much without commentary because I'm a little wrung out at the moment.

Meanwhile, LiveJournal is up to new shenanigans. Actually, I found one of them really helpful, one of them potentially obnoxious due to inevitable user abuse, and only one of them a little bit shady. ( Read more... )ETA: Okay--on the other hand, here's a good explanation of how #3 is a problem. I think I'm having a hard time visualizing all the information a cross-post would give away (maybe because I don't pay attention to Facebook, where you have more than 140 characters for a message). Also, why you would ever want to do it in the first place. Like I said, it's a bad idea, regardless.
ETA 2: In the name of science, what a cross-post looks like on Twitter. It won't let me connect to Facebook (?). There are some definite issues.
