I read about David Eddings last night. :( His books were always reliable fun - two of my siblings and I tore them through all (repeatedly) from sixth or seventh grade all the way through high school.

It may be time for a re-read.

Aw, I feel for the poor, hopeful commenters on that Ryan Kwanten interview. No, sorry, Lafayette is definitely really dead. If we're lucky we'll still get him in flashback scenes, but that's it.

Since Nelsan shows up in the opening credits for at least one episode of Season 2, I'm sure it's safe to say that we do.

Can't say I'm heartbroken about Outpost Gallifrey...that was the most bitter messageboard I've ever visited, which is saying a lot! I can see why i09 is upset though, they basically copy and pasted all of their DW news and rumors from there.

The old-school Who forums on the OG were actually...nice sometimes, once the new-school show was well underway. And I am going to miss the place as an unparalleled rumor mill. It was sort of like a mild version of 4chan for the fandom - producing the occasional good thing that spread throughout the Web, without sane people needing to visit it directly. Lyon's non-explanation for why he won't hand over the reins is a doozy, too. *blinks*

I'm so feeling your pain on that. Which is why I have a sci-fi thriller on the backburner, just in case, haha.

Oh God. Pierce Brosnan and Robert Pattinson. Does Pattinson exude some kind of internet transmissable insanity inducing phermone? Because he is the only person on the planet that activates my Real People Slash Goggles.

Like the whole Comic Con/Gates of Hell Opening thing? When his hair went on high alert? And it looked like he'd just been shagged? Keanu Reeves was there, I'm just saying. Plus the whole sex-in-a-closet look he was sporting at the Goblet of Fire premiere.

God, I'll shot up now before you ban me.

Also, I am severely disappointed in the lack of interviews with True Blood actors THAT I ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT. ]:

I hate admitting this, but when Michael Sheen said his Aro was a little bit Nick Cave on Twitter I inwardly cheered. Aro is sort of...douchily flamboyant in the books, so I can't fathom how adding a dash of 70s porn star Jesus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kV5XkBQsKU) won't make him at least 30% more fabulous.

RIP David Carradine.

I cannot wait for True Blood season 2. I came late to the party for that show and only watched it so I could read Cleolinda's recaps. :) LOVED the show, loved the recaps!

Take all the time you want with your vampire book Cleo, we'll all read it. And people will still be fascinated with them. Look how long it's been since Bram Stoker wrote Dracula (originally published in 1897, incidentally).

And I'm having a hard time believing David Carradine would kill himself. Then again, I don't know the circumstances etc. It just seems odd. Another great one gone.

I was deeply saddened to hear about David Carradine this morning. He was always fun to watch, whether as the heroic detective in Q: The Winged Serpent or the villain of Kill Bill.

Such a shame.

Don't sweat it re: the book. "For the love of God, DON'T submit a vampire novel!!" has been the number one piece of author advice I've seen for, like, the past twenty years. That's not an exaggeration. I've never seen in rescinded.

There are always lots of vampire novels being submitted. There are always lots of agents and editors who never want to see another one ever ever again. There are always, as far as I can tell, approximately the same number of exceptions squeaking through and getting published anyway. The only thing that ebbs and flows is the level of mainstream attention/sales they garner.

I'll be honest, I'm to a point where I just don't give a fuck anymore. I'll put it out as an ebook on Lulu if I have to, the hell with it. Some of y'all will buy it, at least. And if it's any good, it'll get enough attention that someone will want to contract the rest of the series. If it's not, I'll keep selling it myself. Seriously, I'm this close to just tattooing "I Don't Give A Fuck" on the inside of my arm and making it my life motto.

May he rest in peace.
