Spent a nasty rainy day baking six dozen cookies for Mom's work lunch meeting tomorrow. Pretty nice, actually.

Also, that package that went missing? UPS Twitter Dude showed up (on Twitter, naturally) to ask if he could help (I guess they use Twitter search to find mentions of "UPS"?), which was great, and then our communication concluded with, my hand to God, "And by the way, your Twilight commentaries are absolutely brilliant. Good work." I could not stop laughing. Oh my God, I am STILL laughing. I mean, it's a lovely compliment, it's just--of all the things I ever expected a customer service professional to say to me? However? I am doing all business, correspondence and shopping under "Cleolinda Jones" now, forever.

Holy shit, who is not in this movie now?

I swear, this was my first thought: Mia Farrow. Excuse me while I jump on the express train to hell.

And I totally started to tear up a bit when I watched the Where The Wild Things Are trailer. I'm not sure why. Maybe it has to do with the fact that, even after all these years, I still covet Max's pajamas. God I love that book.

Chow Yun-Fat, you did one of the greatest martial arts movie in recent years, next to the completely awesome things Jet Li has done. Why, Chow, why? I know you can do comedy, and I'm sure in the beginning this may have been closer to the original work, but... Roshi? An elderly pervert martial arts master? Half Lupan, half Egg Shen? Just... no. first of all i don't which one is more strangely awesome, that UPS has a twitter account or that the person you spoke to knew who are!

there are not many stories about children that have to be rescued that make me go "aww" but that one did... also the fact that the fireman HAD a spider man costume and used it in drills is cracktastic!

sweet jesus i never want to sleep near one of those fergie dolls! i'm sure it will try and kill me or sing a montage of brittany spears songs because it is really a man...

also i love that people have actually taken some of the stakes! those crazy kiwi's...

As a sign of how not up on movie news I am I just said the other day I think the Percy Jackson books would make a good series of movies if someone decided to make them.

But Kevin McKidd as Poseidon? That is kind of really great casting and I can already picture it in my head.

Hmm...Twitter has definitely changed a few things. I didn't expect the service to be used in proactively solving customer issues. I figured such a service where one tosses out bits from their own stream of consciousness would be too "informal" in a business setting to help resolve issues. But then again, why not use Twitter? Hell, politicians and celebrities are using it...

That bit of realization aside, the UPS guy's comment was awesome! Hopefully you'll get your package...

Yeah, it's a logical step, and yet--really unexpected when they just show up like that. As more people join Twitter, though, I wonder how long companies will be able to keep that kind of proactiveness up?

Oh man, Murder at the Vanities on DVD at last! That is such a cracked out movie. It has some completely deranged musical routines — including an appearance by Duke Ellington, the classic “Cocktails for Two” (the most straightforward number) and yes, an ode to the herbal jazz cigarettes — plus one of the great deranged murder confessions of all time, building up to an exultant, “... and then, I LET HER HAVE IT!
