Good Lord how many more icons are we going to loose this year. Just in the last month we've lost greats like MAjel Roddenberry (1st lady of Sci-Fi) and Ertha Kitt. It's like 2008 is trying to take out as many greats as possible in what little time it has left

This whole Watchmen thing is depressing. It's the first movie I've really looked forward to in years. As in, planning to see it at the theatre instead of being cheap enough to wait for the dvd to come to the library.

Maybe WB can market Watchmen as a big summer movie? I don't really care when it comes out, as long as it eventually does.

All I know about Watchmen is the trailers I've seen, but even so I find it horrifying that 'Chun-li: Streetfighter Extraordinaire' is probably getting a release before it. That seems wrong on some profound level.

I just read Watchmen, like, a week ago, and I'm really looking forward to it now. They just can't do this to us. It's... unconstitutional, or something. (Though, I'm not looking forward to it enough to boycott Wolverine; if I had to choose, I'd choose Wolverine.)

In other news, I saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button yesterday. It was really, really good. I was worried it might be confusing, what with the weird plot, but it wasn't. The pace was really nice; not too fast, not too slow, just perfect. Also, it was three hours long, almost to the dot. I didn't even notice that, though; I looked at my watch when I got out and went "holy shit, it's been three hours".
And, that John Travolta trailer? Awesome. And hilarious. I would totally see that. lol

It's funny. I heard about Lesbian Vampire Killers before, but I can't recall if it was before or after I started work on a screenplay called "Dracula's Daughter vs. The Swamp Monster", which features--of course--a lesbian vampire.

Anyways, it looks fun. Wonder when we'll get it stateside?

The animated short seems to be made by Shane Acker, but apparently is being lengthened to film by Tim Burton?

I love animated shorts. I hobby 3D imaging, so this is very cool to me. I just wonder which programs he used. /geek/

Anyway, thanks for the link, that was good!

I just watched it tonight. It's a 1971 German movie set in Turkey about a vampire lesbian countess, loosely based on Dracula. It's kitschy and good at the same time and a real period piece. I recommend it.

If not: did they kill Bambi's mother?

I just got back from seeing Benjamin Button (I still have tears in my eyes), and I think the alternate poster would have been great. Benjamin's relationship with Taraji P. Henson's character is central to the character and the movie's theme. It really is an amazing movie - given the reviews I've read, I went into it expecting to admire the movie from an emotional distance, but it snuck up on me somehow. By the end I was crying and trying to catch my breath.
