So... for tonight's linkspam, rather than end up with Giant Paragraphs of Death, I'm giving Images and Trailers each their own listy sections, and... ignoring almost everything else, because that's a ton of stuff to catch up on right there.

I have a feeling that this will not be a popular suggestion in some quarters, but I would be more than willing to lead a "Give Us Our Damn Movie or We Boycott 'Wolverine,' You Assholes" campaign.

I'm just DAZZLED by Fox's stupid, in this matter.

I'm dazzled by Warners's stupid, myself.

If you tell me to turn on the Wolverine movie, I will. Just point me in the right direction. I'd much rather have Watchmen.

Good Lord how many more icons are we going to loose this year. Just in the last month we've lost greats like MAjel Roddenberry (1st lady of Sci-Fi) and Ertha Kitt. It's like 2008 is trying to take out as many greats as possible in what little time it has left

Oh. Well. Bugger.

Also, I quite like that Benjamin Button poster.

Must we have another Butterfly Effect? Have we not been punished with enough crappy cinema?

So agreed.

This whole Watchmen thing is depressing. It's the first movie I've really looked forward to in years. As in, planning to see it at the theatre instead of being cheap enough to wait for the dvd to come to the library.

Best comment I've seen so far on the "Watchmen" thing:

"Somewhere, Alan Moore is laughing his creepy, bearded butt off."

Maybe WB can market Watchmen as a big summer movie? I don't really care when it comes out, as long as it eventually does.

Did there really need to be an American remake of State of Play?? David Morrissey >>>>>>> Ben Affleck.

I'm sure it was very funny while it was there. Sigh.

Yeah, me too. I keep expecting to hear about someone being fired, because if the legal side of it was *so* straightforward that the judge ruled from the bench, then it should have been clear from the start for Warners, too. And it's not like there weren't rumblings about rights issues with Fox from the beginning.

Sure, Fox is being bitchy, but it's not like companies are *friends*; if Warners wants to spin out the rope to hang itself, Fox is going to let them.

Me, too. I can't believe they're crying copyright over something they got in the 80's and never even used.

It's just a whole new level of fail in my book.

Those Rise of the Lycans spots made me soooo excited. I loved Michael Sheen in the first one so much.

All I know about Watchmen is the trailers I've seen, but even so I find it horrifying that 'Chun-li: Streetfighter Extraordinaire' is probably getting a release before it. That seems wrong on some profound level.

I just read Watchmen, like, a week ago, and I'm really looking forward to it now. They just can't do this to us. It's... unconstitutional, or something. (Though, I'm not looking forward to it enough to boycott Wolverine; if I had to choose, I'd choose Wolverine.)

In other news, I saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button yesterday. It was really, really good. I was worried it might be confusing, what with the weird plot, but it wasn't. The pace was really nice; not too fast, not too slow, just perfect. Also, it was three hours long, almost to the dot. I didn't even notice that, though; I looked at my watch when I got out and went "holy shit, it's been three hours".
And, that John Travolta trailer? Awesome. And hilarious. I would totally see that. lol

Already on it. (http://community.livejournal.com/watchdom/12778.html)

Plus, I'm already convinced they've probably ruined Gambit, anyway.

This is what FOX can do. (http://www.cracked.com/blog/fox-can-eat-several-dicks/)

Well, now that they know people LIKE it....

But any legal fights should have started a long time ago, not when the film has already been produced and WB spent its money.

It's funny. I heard about Lesbian Vampire Killers before, but I can't recall if it was before or after I started work on a screenplay called "Dracula's Daughter vs. The Swamp Monster", which features--of course--a lesbian vampire.

Anyways, it looks fun. Wonder when we'll get it stateside?
