I've already seen pictures of Mia Wasikowska as Alice. I'm so looking forward to it. While I'm not surprised that Helena Bonhama Carter is going to be in it (she's in every Tim Burton movie isn't she?), I'm a bit surprised at Ann Hathaway being cast.

I take it back she'll be brill as the White Queen.

Tim Burton's really good at putting whoever he's fucking at the moment in his movies. That's one of the reasons why Planet of the Apes was so awkward and terrible - he was transitioning from one to the other.

Honestly, I can't stand HBC. And I haven't enjoyed a Tim Burton movie since Sleepy Hollow.

I had this feeling of childlike amazement when I saw The Happening, because I truly thought all the stuff I'd read about it HAD to be an exaggeration. WHY YOU EYEIN' MAH LEMON DRANK.

Did you see that skit on last Saturday's SNL, Mark Wahlberg Talks To Animals? It was hilarious, not least because it reminded me of that scene in the movie when he talked to a plant that turned out to be fake. But also because it was so random, and a dead-on impression.

Word 2003 (damn, that's old)--it'll just suddenly say that there's not enough room to save to disk (I have 45 empty GB on my computer), crash, and then autorecover won't kick in when I open it up again. The last time it happened, my Yahoo music player crashed about three seconds before--it's like something on the computer starts triggering crashes.

MegaForce? Oh, there's a blast from my childhood that I could've gone all day without remembering.

I'm still apprehensive about Shamallamadingdong's Avatar. It was so good. This can go so horribly wrong.

uh.... THIS ISN'T YOUR STORY YOU FUCK! It's AVATAR! Get it right or I'll bitchslap you to last monday's meat surprise.

I dug 6th Sense and loved Unbreakable. Signs didn't do much and village was annoying (I didn't like the twist). BUT I did like lady in the water.

My take is that M Night let it all go to his head and now he's doing stupid shit because he's mad about poor box office and etc and not really thinking things through anymore.

A ha ha, that Vanilla Gorilla movie has been kicking around since 2001 or so. Nikki Webster (Australian starlet whose main claim to fame was being the central character in the Sydney Olympic Games opening ceremony, then released a few lame pop songs) was going to have this as her Hollywood Star Vehicle. Of course, then she grew up and started taking her clothes off for money, so perhaps she's not attached any more.

I totally love that the Met does these broadcasts. Nothing beats being there, but as I can't get up there to see Salome, I'm definitely going to the broadcast for that one. It's such a great way to reach a broader, more diverse audience. Especially for children. Most opera companies now have student outreach programs, where they tour around to local schools and everything. There are so many more ways to reach a younger audience than there used to be. I wish someone had thought of all this when I was in elementary/middle school.
