Also, while I was at TV Tropes the other day, I noticed the Cloverfield page. The "Darwin" bit isn't actually attributed to me (and who knows, maybe I'm not the only person who came up with it), but it turning up there is yet another proud moment in my life.

That's why you've never heard about it going on sale before: it didn't until today. And that's why the pre-order bestseller rankings are so funny.)

Hmm, I like Keanu Reeves more than most people do, and I'm not 100% sure I can see it.

I think you might actually like "Cowboy Bebop," though. There's just the one, fairly short series, and the one animated movie, so it's not a huge commitment. Great music, too.

I'd like to think that my response to Johnny Depp as the Riddler is governed by a mature cinematical viewpoint and a deep loyalty to the source material, but I would be wrong; it's OMG JOHNNY DEPP, a string of exclamation points, and then static.

I absolutely love the way Jon looks in the Watchmen posters. I have no idea how they managed to make a giant blue glow look lost and wistful and human, but bravo, CGI dudes. Bravo.

Looking at the posters: You can clearly see the whole phrase "Who watches the Watchmen" on the Comedian, Ozymandias and Rorschach posters. BOO HISS. (Or maybe, considering how important they are, it's incredibly clever. Also clever: Having Ozymandias's clock at the midnight position.)

On Cowboy Bebop: It, along with Neon Genesis Evangelion and Serial Experiments Lain are sort of the Dark Knight Returns and Watchmen of anime, especially in America, where they showed that anime wasn't just cute and light. Spike's the main character and one of the biggest badasses in anime, so having Keanu play him is so wrong on so many levels. And makes me do a Big NOOOOOOOO.

It's pretty cocky of her to suggest the book be two movies like that. If I were her, I'd be grateful for their being any movie at all, because from the looks of the first two trailers, I'd be hella suprised if there was a New Moon movie. She's reaching a bit too far too quickly, I think. The first one hasn't even been out yet, she doesn't honestly know the kind of response it will get. Maybe I'm biased, but a lot of the time I see her interviews, her head seems a bit inflated.

Oh, shit. I hadn't gotten that far along in the processing of the whole idea yet. (I haven't put very much time into this, mind you. I'm doing my best to not care.)

So.

Spike? They're going to get it wrong, fine. I think everyone's coming to grips with that... some of us more and faster than others, naturally.

Jet? Easier to cast than you might think.

Faye? Curves and attitude, so there are options available out there. Admittedly, many of the options are terrible, but whatever.

Ein? Dog.

Edward? The good news is that they'll have to cast an unknown. That's the only good news. (Of course, being an American live-action film, Edward's going to show up for maybe ten minutes of screen time. Le sigh.)

This has catastrophe written all over it, and I'm going to spend the next however-long-'til-it-arrives doing my best not to care. Yep.

How freakin' big is Breaking Dawn to need two movies?

I am going to read it, but I know I am already sick of it. I had to organise the party at my work. Looking at the Excel Spreadsheet from head office for all the stores in our country (and I work for one of the major two book chains in the US), excluding the district which is Stephenie Meyer's hometown area, we have by far the most copies of any store. Like, insane amounts. I am kind of fearing tomorrow.

Depp and Jolie almost seem like too big of names to be in the Batman movies. I could see Hoffman, but Depp and Jolie almost seem like they'd overshadow the actual movie, Jolie especially.

Eeshk, Keanu Reeves as Spike Spiegel is just the worst casting. I like Keanu in The Matrix and everything but his acting is incredibly stiff. Spike is casually carefree and charismatic and everything that makes his character likeable and so much fun to watch is what Keanu generally fails to bring to the table. Supposedly the producer or whoever is getting this show on the road has worked with him a lot before so it feels like they're just casting based on that and not who would be a good fit for the role. Pretty crummy :/

Oh and if you get curious and do check out Cowboy Bebop as some others have suggested don't spoil yourself on wiki! It has one of the better endings of a series out there and since it's only 26 episodes you get there quick. I definitely recommend it :)

Not only am I dying for Catwoman to be the next Bat villain [And I totally think they set up for it by offing that person I will not name because I'm against spoiling, even though it might be kind of obvious.], but I think Angelina Jolie would be perfect for the part. I highly doubt the authenticity of the claim she looked into it, but I do think it would be awesome if it truly happened.

I would weep many tears if Keanu Reeves got cast as Spike. T_T Hell, the entire project is sending me into mad convulsions of DO. NOT. WANT. >_>;;; It's fine as it is, can't be done without Kanno's music, no one is cool enough, etc... and I also... um. I'm spoiled as hell on the English dub they did for the series. It's my favorite dub ever. If I'm hearing Spike in English, it had better be Steve Blum's voice I'm hearing. Same goes for the rest of the cast.

Not an Angelina fan, so... I'm not thrilled with the idea of her being Catwoman. (On the other hand, I'm never opposed to more Johnny Depp.)
