Not much going on today, except HOLY CRAP AN AVALANCHE OF HARRY POTTER STILLS. Also, Sister Girl has gotten a Brittany spaniel puppy (she's living in an apartment on her own now, not here with us, so it's very much her first pet as an independent adult), and he is tiny and and skinny and recovering from some stomach parasite and darling. I held Pete in the car when she took him to the vet this morning, and despite how sick and sad he was when she first got him earlier this week, he kept looking up at me and breaking out into this huge grin, like, "This is the sweet life!" AWWWW.

I...don't understand how there can be a sequel to 300.

Also, that Disaster Movie poster is...what the shit? I'm so confused. I mean, for God's sake, someone already made a wonderful parody of disaster movies. It was called Airplane! And it is certainly possible to do another parody of disaster movies. If...it actually parodies disaster movies.

The Day the Earth Stood Still trailer has been taken down for now. It's up here (http://the-day-the-earth-stood-still-trailer.blogspot.com/), though.

Maybe they'll do like Disney did and have 301. :o

102 Dalmations was sooooo unnecessary.

Yeah, I agree with Cleolinda. It isn't actually going to be a parody of disaster movies. It's called Disaster Movie because that's what it is. I guess test audiences responded to that title better than G-d Awful Movie.

I love fireworks. There's something about being allowed to blow things the heck up that brings out the giddy kid in everyone.

Meanwhile I love Luna. I STILL ship her and Neville, despite what Rowling says and I always got annoyed with people questioning her beforehand. I KNOW!

The BB wank, I gotta say, has raised it to an exciting new level. I'd been reading the comments until it got to 1300+ and I'm not sure I've ever seen a bunch of people so intelligent and erudite acting like such profound idiots before. The moderators have points to make, and they might even be right, but they're either flustered or just petulant enough to be all too willing to drag their discourse down to that of a rank troll. BB itself seems to have done the wrong thing for the right reason and their inability to fall into the gray area between "say nothing/spill everything" is not becoming.

It's massive amounts of tealdeer turning into tealduck in a heavy garlic failsauce.

I think you might like this () Hellboy commercial with the guy from Actor's Studio. There's about 3 or 4 different Hellboy short commercials out at the moment.

That trailer for "The Day the Earth Stood Still" made me sad, which had nothing to do with how sad the movie may or may not be.

I love the original. It's a wonderful movie, who cares about the hokey special effects? I wish they would stop remaking good movies and screwing with them.

I went to look at that Disaster Movie poster and had this chain of thoughts: "First look at 'Cirque du Freak?' They're making a movie? *click* John C. Reilly's in this?"

Seriously, did I have a mini Van Winkle and lose touch with popculture for a month?

"Wait, is that James McAvoy?"

Rich Klein, whose consulting firm was hired by Paramount to relocate the families of the stars, told NPR, "I don't think anybody is happy with the fact that ... Zakria is not doing well." However, he added that his family needs to be realistic about what Paramount can do for them.

"Maybe not, Truman. But the truth is you didn't want to."

Ugh, that's depressing. I'm going to go to my happy place with the Dark Knight and thinking about getting a jackahuahua (http://www.morgan-equine.com/acatalog/Puppies.html) (oh please, oh please).

I didn't think that they could come up with a Blindness trailer that could piss me off more than the first one.

I was mistaken.

A Brittany Spaniel in an apartment? I hope she's up to plenty of walks; from what I've heard, pointing breeds are active like whoa and need constant (and I mean CONSTANT) exercise. S'why my apartment dog is a Pekingese: they have the activity level of a pregnant slug on Quaaludes. :)

One of my mom's friends has a Brittany named Molly and she is one of the most adorable dogs EVER. Brittanies (Brittanys? being a dog breed, I'm not sure) always seem like such happy dogs. I'm sure Sister Girl will love him to pieces. :)
