Not sure why I'm tense, either. I think it's a hormonal thing, because I've felt like I wanted to cry all day long, even though I was relatively cheerful otherwise. Mother's Day was fine--y'all know how close I am with my mom, so that's never stressful. After we had lunch at Panera (so that Sister Girl, who had to work this afternoon, could join us), we had dessert at my grandmother's, and everything was fine. I just want to scream, is all.

Student leader is potent Chavez foe.

Myanmar junta hands out aid boxes with generals' names as an apparent "propaganda exercise."
One box bore the name of Lt. Gen. Myint Swe, a rising star in the government hierarchy, in bold letters that overshadowed a smaller label reading: "Aid from the Kingdom of Thailand."

"We have already seen regional commanders putting their names on the side of aid shipments from Asia, saying this was a gift from them and then distributing it in their region," said Mark Farmaner, director of Burma Campaign UK, which campaigns for human rights and democracy in the country.

"It is not going to areas where it is most in need," he said in London.
So... I don't really have a good segue from that to entertainment news.

AW! *hugs you* Sorry you're tense.

May I suggest some comics to cheer you up? This one made me laugh earlier today: Deadpool beats Rhino (http://www.killermovies.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=380685&pagenumber=2) (you have to scroll to the very last entry on the page, and then it goes into the next 2 entries on pg. 3). :)

Oh, context: Deadpool (mercenary) was hired by some rich dude to get the Rhino's horn b/c Rich Dude heard it would help with...hem...male potency. Rich dude's young wife would prefer he didn't relive his youth. So that's why DP is fighting Rhino, and who the chick is.

(I swear I thought this was the whole issue...it must be another link)

A Donnie Darko sequel? SEQUEL? I mean, wouldn't that be kind of pointless and just--no, that's not gonna work.

Those Bond pictures = the hotness.

Obviously the whole thing is a joke. A very elaborate joke. For fun. And lulz. Nothing more.

Please let me live in my denial.

I think that only happened in the alternate timeline/pocket universe. I'm pretty sure at the end of the film, everyone except Donnie was alive.

Here's one way to cover the filming of Twilight: do a comic strip about it (http://www.webcomicsnation.com/culturepulp/culturepulp/series.php?view=archive&chapter=29576). (That's by Mike "Culture Pulp (http://culturepulp.typepad.com)" Russell. It's been run in both the Oregonian and the L.A. Tmes. He also did an L.A. Times feature story about the set visit (http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/movies/la-ca-twilight11-2008may11,0,5524758.story).

I haven't seen it, but I hate the hate people are giving Speed Racer soley on it's "politcal message".

I think it's terribly besides the point

Yes, in the same way that the Star Wars prequels were "OMG! Invisible fascism!"

I loved it, but I get why some don't. But people harping on the alleged anti-capitalism is just DUM.

The junta in Burma (or Myanmar, or whatever) has got to be one of the most evil group of people ever to walk the planet. Seriously. They're terrible rulers - they don't give two hoots about their people. Even most other crappy rulers at least wanted their people to stay ALIVE, for the most part. Myanmar... "meh, I'm alive, they can all die."
