We're in the middle of a lightning storm, and it's my mother's birthday as well and we're about to have a big dinner, so I probably won't be around much tonight. (I may have to watch Lost tomorrow, I don't know.) So here's your discussion entry a bit early.

Damn, that sounds like hail.

OH MY GOD HELP IT'S MASSIVE HAIL

MASSIVE HAIL

Heeee.

Date: 2009-02-19 12:47 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com
OMG IT WAS SO SCARY. I'm on the top floor, so there's like, a mere foot of building materials between me and the massive hail. It was like being inside a pinball machine.

...here, have Queen performing "Tie Your Mother Down" in Montreal in 1981 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mw2rAPl7fck&eurl=http://tara-knrk.itmblog.com/2009/02/17/the-greatest-concert-film-of-all-time-says-me/&feature=player_embedded) as diversion.

SOUTHERN STORMS WILL NOT STOP.
here in atlanta the local college's tornado warnings go off every ten minutes. it sounds like an air raid.

Oh man, I'm in Marietta. Not only do I get the tornado sirens, but I get the AFB's "OH GOD LIGHTNING GET INSIDE" sirens. One of my dad's friends got hit by lightning over there a few years ago, so they take NO CHANCES anymore.

Sky gods have a limited vocabulary. MASSIVE HAIL is their way of saying, "Happy Birthday, honored and scary mother of Cleolinda! Please do not make us explode with the power of your mind or anything like that!"

Aww, you got all the cool, though somewhat scary, weather we were supposed to get here in Houston! Man!

Be safe! Tennessee had a tornado watch until 5:00, but it didn't get too bad here. It was still hella windy, though. :-/

It came out of nowhere too (I'm in TN). All of a sudden I hear rain (and maybe hail?) hitting the windows and wind and such. 'Twas strange.

It started storming here last night and I was like "OMG thunder! I haven't heard that in ages!" I'm glad spring is finally getting here =)

I remember a few years ago, I was sick with something or other, complete with fever, and I'd been asleep for a few hours when a hailstorm started. I awoke in pitch blackness amid giant hailstones pounding against my window. I was so confused and groggy and I nearly had a panic attack D=

A few Ubercons ago we were up late playing D&D when it simultaneously started thunderstorming/snowing. Thundersnowing. We all had to take a second to figure out whether it was a sleep-deprivation induced hallucination or actually happening.

(Dear God, what were they doing to "My Baby, She Wrote Me A Letter" on AI? What was that??)

THANK YOU.

I've made my peace with the contestants butchering beloved songs, because at least I know they'll get booted. But, but... They HIRED THOSE TWO BACK to do that to that song.

Also, is it just me, or does the math this season not add up? I mean, we're at the top 36, right? So, 3 shows of 12 contestants being whittled down to 3 equals 9, right? Where are the other 2 going to come from? Or am I totally misunderstanding the process?

Also, also, I was really sad to see some of the talent be hacked from the show so brutally and suddenly. I mean, Ricky Braddy was amazing! Anoop had great potential, too.

Can you tell that I haven't been able to talk to anyone about these concerns until now? lol

I guess that's what Richard meant--Locke would have to die, to kill himself, so they'd have a body to take back to replicate Jack taking his father's coffin.
