I intended to be a lazy bastard today, but... that ended up not happening. So I'm still tired, and I'm only going to give you the choicest linkspam because, again: tired. And also, my inbox is on fire.

(But it's a good tired. I've still got more work to do, but I cannot tell you how mellow I feel now that I've got "Twilight in Fifteen Minutes"--something I've worried about writing for six months now--behind me.)

Big money! No Whammies!: "Also, sources say stars Robert Pattinson, 22, and Kristin Stewart, 18, will get huge salary boosts from the $2 million each earned for 'Twilight' -- reportedly $10 million more, per film, plus a nice percentage of the future movies' box-office take." Where I come from, we call this "hazard pay."

The final Growing Up Cullen. And I totally understand, too. There's a reason I only post a few Fifteen Minutes(es?) per year--because there's a sense of diminishing returns (and writerly fun) after a while.

(Does my scrapbook dazzle you? Yes, it is actually a Twilight-themed set.)

Remember the epic USAWeekend comments? (The one where my favorite was from "Susan Pevensie"?) Well, now there are icons. Lots and lots of icons.

‘Twilight’ drinks in $70.6 million; Vampire Bites Dog; Twilight's First Day Is A Hit - But What Happens Next?; Script already finished for ‘Twilight’ sequel; In The Wake Of ‘Twilight,’ Here’s My ‘New Moon’ Wish List; Why 'Twilight' is Historic for Women Filmmakers.

The Soup takes on Twilight; Twilight parody: 'Dimlight'; 7 Vampires Better Than Twilight's Edward Cullen [Suck It]; Robert Pattinson Plays Dumb About the Appeal of Hair He Can't Stop Touching.

Oh, and by the way, I have to give a shoutout to the Geektress podcast, which discusses Twilight in general for a while and my recaps in particular for a bit, as well as a number of comics and TV shows.

Regular linkspam!

That Watchmen MSPaint thing is the best thing ever. Someday, I will tell someone their wine is "poison flavored."

Also, regarding Han and the Wookie: ... what. But the Han/Chewie slashfic community has already done that sort of thing many times over, I'm sure. I don't want to know.

I'm still depressed about the Twilight box office numbers. I will probably be ranting about that to my mother (an elementary school librarian) over Thanksgiving.

I discovered you on Friday and my god you've become my new hero. I have actually laughed so hard I've cried thanks to you! (and thank you that I don't actually have to read any of the books and now also know which ones to have my 12 year old avoid for the time being!)

But Zoe Saldana? Comes pretty close.

How the hell did I not know that Eric Bana is in the new Star Trek movie? My excitement level just shot way up.

Also: the icons are hilarious, thanks for the links. I think my favorite is the T.S. Eliot "not with a bang but with a sparkle" one.

Would...would fabric glue be okay? I don't like sentences that have both "eyes" and "sew" in them.

That MSPaint Watchmen is the best thing all day. Minus the M15M and Growing Up Cullen.

I physically recoiled from the "Han was supposed to be married to a wookie" item. WAT. OH HALE NO.

Also, no one should ever, ever watch the Star Wars Holiday special. Even the Rifftrax version. It's just not worth it.

Was grocery shopping today, and the front page of one of the celebrity rag/paparazzi type magazines (can't remember which one) had an article saying RPatz and Kristen Stewart were a real life couple.

I don't believe it for a minute, but I wonder if other people heard this rumour?

(this journal is my only connection to the twilight craziness, and I'm scared to step into the wilds of the actual fandom.)
