CLEO IS FREEEEEE!

Just a quick word about that last entry--would you know what I meant if I said you could be shocked but not surprised? Like... you knew the numbers were possible, even probable, and... yet? Yeah. Kind of like that. I'm shocked my own prediction came true, I guess.

(If Summit Entertainment would like to send me a fruit basket, they may feel free to do so. Bonus lol points if there's nothing in it but apples.)

And now, to wait for the angry Twihards. ("Edward would NEVER curse, and vampires DON'T eat marshmallows!") I keep waiting for them to get here, and they never do... which just convinces me that when they do get here, it's gonna be bad.

Oh, and icons. I guess I can start messing around making icons.

Okay - what the hell is with this vampire baseball? I'm serious - what's the purpose? I've heard about it, and I'm reading the M15M and looking at the pictures, and seriously...WHAT.

Well, they're vampires, and... they get bored? I don't know. They're so strong and fast that they can't play with humans, and there's a whole thing about how they have to wait for thunderstorms because they hit the ball so hard that it makes this huge noise.

I think a lot of Twihards are in a state of denial about snark and bad reviews. They'd rather pretend they don't exist than flame (or they'd rather save the flaming for Russell Brand types and EW covers).

Also, thanks for linking to the flashback outfit pics in the 15 Minutes post; you saved me hours of searching to make my friends LOL.

Heh. I actually had to do some digging for it, but I found where I originally mentioned it in a linkspam. Because, seriously, the flashback's kind of fuzzy and you really need to see the costumes to understand the weirdness of the Quileutes still wearing animal skins when we're far enough into modernity for Rosalie to be wearing PANTS.

So, I'm curious. After your performance anxiety over the m15m, how does it feel now that you're done, it's up and the first wave of responses have come in? Does the positivity in the comments help any?

Either way, you did good and I'm sorry the process is so stressful on you.

Date: 2008-11-24 08:14 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com
It took me about an hour after I finished to hit post--I kept proofing it over and over (which I always do. I do it to a lesser extent with regular linkspam posts, but that's mostly because there's tons of links to possibly get tangled up) and being scared I'd missed some chunk that I hadn't quite finished yet.

One of the things that's always weird is what people end up finding funny--things that I think didn't work (but I couldn't think of anything better) or things I just tossed off, sometimes people love those. So it's weird to stress over these parts over here, and then have people like those parts over there. And, I mean, I could take you through it right now and circle all these bits and be like, "This part here isn't funny to me, it's just a placeholder, I didn't like how this turned out, this could have been better..." I don't know. It's weird. In the end, it's about what makes other people laugh, and if they do, it works. You just have no guaranteed way of knowing if they will.

But you know, a lot of times the process really isn't that stressful. When I'm just tossing something off for fun and no one knows I'm going to do it, it's very low pressure. This, though--I've known for six months that I was going to do it, would HAVE to do it, and I've had people asking me over and over the couple of weeks if I was going to see the movie, WHEN was I going to see it, would I do the parody, etc. So it's like... you know people are waiting for it. And I'd already written all these recaps, and I didn't want to just cannibalize the Midnight Sun recaps for this, I was afraid I might not even have anything left to say, and people already kind of had a baseline of, "This is what she sounds like when she writes about Twilight," so I had to make sure it was at least as good as those if not better.

Yeah. This kind of psyching myself out, it is probably my single biggest issue or problem or character flaw or whatever you want to call it, just in terms of how badly it paralyzes me a lot of the time.

YES. The "Twilight in 15 Minutes" recap is just astounding and hilarious and it has pictures~! Does your community allow anonymous posters to comment? I'm kind of... excited to see anyone try and flame it, because you have an army of lolfans who will tear them to pieces. I... want to see that happen. For the lulz, of course!

On a somewhat-related note: DID YOU SEE "TRUE BLOOD" TONIGHT?!

Bill... actually made me cry. I HAD TEARS STREAMING DOWN MY FACE. I have become way too emotionally attached to these characters.

(Also... L-Lafayette? If something has happened to him, I'm going to cry AND THROW DOWN. Also-also? I think the politician had something to do with it. Turning Lafayette into the vampires for selling V as payback for threatening him? I WANT TO SEE THE MAN BURN. SLOWLY. IN A FIRE. WITH OTHER DARE-I-SPEAK-THEM THINGS INFLICTED UPON HIM. ...Slowly.)

There's more I want to say, but I'll end up writing an essay. I already did in one of my posts. D:

Sigh. Have to wait until next summer to learn what happens. Time to go read the books.
