Well, I had a nice long sleeps this morning. Got up, got a nice big pumpkin for the Third Annual Valkyrie/Dr. Typo Pumpkin Carving Party, and then wandered around Publix buying cheap-ass shit I didn't really need, but there you go. I did pick up a really tasty-smelling "body mist" with "the seductive scent of cherry blossom, red apple pomegranate [this is apparently a single fruit now ], delicious peach and hints of pink lily." Also, it may be chock full of glitter. I may totally be planning to wear it to a certain movie next month. These reports, however, cannot be confirmed. I will spend the rest of the afternoon baking cookies for the party (don't get too impressed--the dough's from the store), playing with my favorite purple eyeshadow, and trying to convince myself to work in the few hours left. I will probably not succeed.

And because I feel really loopy: in today's flashback, you can learn the paternity of my thumb-sized baby. (He never did come to help me rescue it from my sister or the cat, either.)

ETA: Oh--what I ended up doing was sprucing up some of the silly wiki pages that I'm linking in the footnotes, which meant the Anna Dollerious page needed an overhaul, which then meant that I realized I never did icons for the last Secret Life of Dolls entry. Thus, here we are:

My friends and I are planning on drenching ourselves in glitter for a certain movie, although we are worried about the chances of it ever coming out of our hair afterward.

I'm being dragged to Twilight opening night and I, too, had thought to adorn myself with some sparklies. I really think it's just an excuse to be utterly silly - then again, that's the overall beauty of Twilight, isn't it? :D

That dream was awesome, btw. Poor thumb-sized baby.

Largely in thanks to your site and Growing Up Cullen my boyfriend is eager to be Edward Cullen for Halloween. I'm still debating the best way to bedazzle him.

Whatever you do, you have to get him some huge rumpled hair. (http://pics.livejournal.com/cleolinda/tags/the+hair/) After that, he can either go with book!Edward beige or emo!movie!Edward black. (http://pics.livejournal.com/cleolinda/tags/cheer+up+emo+vampire/) As for the glitter--depends on how blatant you want to go. What I bought today was a Sweet Couture (who? what?) glitter body mist for all of $5.99, and the glitter is fine but pretty visible. And that's after I rubbed it around a bit. You could also go with fine-grain craft glitter, although you'll be finding that all over the furniture for a few months afterwards. I would recommend going to a drugstore and looking at the girly glitter/bath/cosmetics aisle.

I would suggest for guys craft pearl dust rather than colour glitter. Apply it just like powdered makeup with a brush. Makes em opal.

I actually did this for years for football games. I'd even end up putting it in my hair (God knows why, it's not like people can SEE IT under those hideous band hats). It worked well, but I am amazed I never got in trouble for getting glitter all over the house.

for chu...

I had to use the extra fine high end stuff for wedding floristry and when that stuff picks up a static charge it goes everywhere(poor kitties).
But boy a little goes a long way to get a nice shimmer.

I totally know what you mean. I worked at JoAnn Fabrics for a couple of years. I HATED cleaning the glitter aisle. So much, all over the place...

I think I love the leftmost icon best. Edward...does not impress, does he? Anna needs a more impressive weapon than that before she's gonna pay attention.

I would just like to say that the Thumb-sized-Elija-Wood-Baby entry is one of my favorites. I was always around your LJ for the m15m and the Lost recaps but that was the entry that made me go "Ok, I need to read her real entries more often... she's made of awesome!" So good Flashback!! ^_^

Ah, glitter... for the Breaking Dawn release, my friends and I totally adorned ourselves in three different kinds of body/hair glitter. I then made the mistake of throwing the clothes I wore that night in with the rest of my dirty laundry--I'm still finding glitter on my clothes

(One of my friends put it best when she said "glitter is like the STD of craft supplies".)

Also, your strange dreams make me feel better about my own. I very much thank you for sharing them.

When you said "the seductive scent of cherry blossom," I totally knew where you were going. The glitter was the icing in the middle of the twinkie. I can't stop laughing now.

But does it smell of freesia?

I still have loads of glitter left over from the Breaking Dawn midnight release party, in which I went costumed in black clothes and ~*GLITTER*~. Am considering going as a sparklepire for Halloween. And to the movie. Now if only I can find freesia perfume somewhere..

Antonia's Flowers is a one-note freesia perfume. It really smells like the flower. JFYI.

Truly nice job on the icons... as I'm sitting here with a headache the size of Mongolia I really needed that. *worships*

Speaking from experience, DO NOT use actual glitter in your hair. Go buy glitter hairspray, it's much much better. It should be with the Halloween makeup and color hairspray at Walmart or Target. If you use actual glitter, most of it will sink down to the roots and not be seen, and you'll be washing it out for WEEKS.

You are very brave. My friends and I are planning to go to the midnight premiere, but I'm more than a little scared of the Twihards. We like the book for its Twinkie-ness, but mocking the Twihards by going covered in glitter sounds like asking for too much trouble...and Cleo's story of angry LOTR fans at the Two Towers opening weeked a while back has me thinking twice about pissing off that kind of group of rabid fans.
