So I feel like hell. I recorded another (different) podcast yesterday, and for some reason I felt completely wiped out afterwards, which didn't really make sense because it's basically like being on a conference call for a couple of hours, you know? It's not coal mining. So then I started running a low-grade fever, and I've been down this afternoon with another trainwreck of a migraine. Oh, and also the phlegmish drainage, the sneezing, etc. I don't know if I have a sinus infection or what, but I DO NOT LIKE IT. And I was going to watch the Emmys at an informal party kind of thing, but... not now. Because I feel like I've been hit by a bus. Booooo. I'll probably be unconscious for the actual Emmys, I don't know. Wake me up if Benry wins, that's all that really interests me.

Ugh, feel better soon. Sinus infection = do not want.

My husband is down with a cold. I wonder if something's going around?

AlkaSeltzer Plus Cold (orange flavor is best, and don't let the fizz stop!! drink immediately after it dissolves!)

Knocks it out in 30 minutes. Works like a charm! (I just had this this past week)

Hee, it's okay. I think this is probably why I got kind of quiet during the last third or so of recording. Also, the trying not to sneeze.

Grosss. My first reaction is now always "GO TO DOCTOR!" but then I remember that most people don't have the immune system of a ...something with a bad immune system. My joke-fu is faulty tonight.

From: [identity profile] cleolinda.livejournal.com
Hee. Yeah, I've got a--not a weak immune system exactly, not like yours (*carefully sterilized hug*), but because I don't get out of the house enough, I don't have immunity built up for simple dumbass stuff. So if either of my parents bring something home, so to speak, or I go out and run into someone with a cold, odds are I'm going to get it. But not as severely as if I actually had a weak immune system; I just get stuff more frequently.

See, now there's how to make a joke about my immune system without it being insulting, like how someone I know keeps insisting "A stiff breeze would kill me."

I used to have the opposite thing going on with a friend of mine. She'd get sick with everything and anything that would come near her and always warn me "No, don't share my Coke, you'll get sick!" but I could get all up in her face and never ever get sick with the crap she'd catch.

Try treating the symptoms for a week - Zyrtec or Claritin work pretty well, as does Benadryl at night. Zyrtec can also make you sleepy, so that's something to take at night as well. And Tylenol if your temp is over 100.

Yeah, I think we have some Allegra D in the house, and I've been taking Advil for the migraines (works pretty well within half an hour to an hour).

I happened to see that while I was eating dinner with my mother, and she got through about thirty seconds of them talking over each other and went, "Uh. No," and flipped over to a football game. I have to say, I wasn't sorry she did.

Yeah, you, uh, you're lucky. Howie Mandel just continued to jabber on about how they literally had nothing prepared (and sure enough, they didn't) and then him, Ryan Seacrest, and someone else whose name escapes me just awkwardly walked off; then William Shatner and Tom Bergeron ripped Heidi Klum's suit off to reveal a black short-short one-piece.

Yep. I'm very serious.

The Emmy's is VERY VERY bad tonight.

The 12 minute opening(after Oprah) was EMBARRASSING....and then when Josh Groban attempted to sing Will Smith's Prince of Bel-Air....well, you'll see....and now you can fast forward through it....you've been warned.

Sorry, I've just been watching a lot of V for Vendetta lately, and it freaked me out. 'Thought you might find it interesting. ^_^

The whole show was kinda...blah. It was alright. Josh Groban made the night though. Best moment. Although, I did yell at the TV when William Petersen (who plays Grissom on CSI) and Lawrence Fishburne came out and William was all "I'm handing the keys to the lab over to you." I yelled. I'm still in denial it's happening.

Gah! The Emmys sucked this year! D: I was so disappointed with so much.

Michael Emerson and Lost needed to win. :< So did Kristin Chenoweth and Lee Pace. More awards for Pushing Daisies, plz. (At least it won a few, though. Yay!)

Good: Josh Groban, Tina Fey, and (kinda surprisingly) Don Rickles.

Bad: Everything else, especially that idiotic opening bit. Seriously, that was one of the most bizarre and unappealing opening I've ever seen for an awards show. And this is from someone who actually saw the Rob Lowe/Snow White bump and grind.

Get better! Allergy/cold meds should sort you right out, and I can't recommend enough drinking lots of hot tea. I don't know if you've seen this yet, but the Sunday Telegraph interviewed the costume designers (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/fashion/main.jhtml?xml=/fashion/2008/09/21/st_costumedesigners.xml) for The Duchess and Brideshead Revisited and I thought you might be interested.
