Actually got a good bit of work done this morning, believe it or not. Also, there was some weirdness right as I was adding the daily click graphics to the end of the entry and a few links went missing, so I think I put all of them back but I'm not sure.

Fan Lib closes. We dance the dance of schadenfreude. (A blast from the past: their marketing brochure. lindentreeisle: "Like any good brochure, it tells you everything about Fanlib that you need to know: 'None of us have any talent for anything (including grammar), our business plan is incomprehensible, and we have no respect for anyone, including ourselves.' " And then they started using invasive bots to move people's work from ff.net to FanLib.)

Rumors of a RHPS remake popup every few years or so. I wish Hollywood would realize that you can't "make" a cult film, it has to just happen. As much as I love Shock Treatment, it didn't capture audiences imaginations like RHPS did.

As LULZ-worthy as the Twilight stuff is, somehow the fact that they are making ANOTHER UNDERWORLD WHUT? is even more disturbingly funny.

And then there's this: Rocky Horror Picture Show Remake and Hairspray 2 Coming and I realize the world really is coming to an end. *cries*

I enjoy silly romantic vampires and I love musicals insanely, so the fact that my hatred for all of this inanity continues to go deeper only proves how sad this is becoming.

Still excited to see what Tim Burton does with Alice, though! Squee.

Oh, thank you for doing a Comic Con linkspam. I've been looking all over for some sort of news post and hadn't found anything. ♥

I also had no idea Tim Burton was even thinking of doing an Alice in Wonderland film and am now very excited.

WORD on Angelina needing to gain weight. The most credibility breaking thing about Wanted for me was her chowing down on a hamburger when she looks like nary a calorie has passed her lips in ages. Curving bullets? I'm with you. Slowing down time? Sure, I'll buy it. Angelina within a mile of grease? Nope, you lost me.

And here's to hoping Joseph Gordon-Levitt can play a major villian. I like him and think he's a great actor, but I think he's an odd casting choice for a masked super villain.

Ugh, I am ill at reading the comments to that John Barrowman story. "Waaah, he can't play Captain America because he's gaaaaay." Jesus. STFU and let me bask in how awesome that would be, dammit.

YAY for your Comic-Con coverage. I'm so jealous of anyone who gets to go, though it looks like it's a scary sea of people.

Jeeesus H. Christ, I am sooo tired of this George Lucas bashing I saw behind that link again.

Then don't go and see it in 3D, people, no one is forcing you to. Us, the fans of the films, will love to.

And by the way, blockbuster movies will all turn 3D in the next years anyway, so what's so shocking?

Gosh.

I love that because John Barrowman is gay, he couldn't possibly be Captain America. Also because he was born in Scotland. Clearly, these are v. important pre-reqs to become president Captain America.

Wait, he's playing Watson, right? That would actually not be terribly off canon.

Didn't Doyle have Watson get shot in two different locations, depending on which story you believe?

Yeah, it was like the leg and the shoulder. One of the things I love about ACD is how blithely he just really did not care about the Holmes stories. They were stories, he wrote them, that was cool. He really just could not be bothered with continuity, though.

What, no complaints about him being Scottish? Personally, I don't care if he's gay or Scottish, he'd be a great Captain America! The fact he's gay and Scottish just adds humor to it for me.
