My day has been made. (I may or may not have helped talk Jessica into posting this--she was afraid of the Twihards. In fact, I may or may not have suggested that GFY send any angry fans to me. BRING IT IF YOU THINK YOU'VE GOT IT. BECAUSE IF YOU BRING IT, I WILL POLITELY TELL YOU THAT SNARK IS KIND OF WHAT I DO AND IF IT DOESN'T SUIT YOU THEN YOU MAY BE HAPPIER READING ANOTHER JOURNAL, AND IT WILL BE BROUGHTEN.)

(On the EW site itself: 'Twilight' hits Hollywood; Stephenie Meyer's vampire empire. Meanwhile, the LA Times reports fan outrage at the tackiness of the cover. No, I'm not kidding.)

ETA: New ‘Twilight’ Footage Unveiled! at MTV, because it is the movie that keeps on giving.

Famous polar bear caught in custody battle.

In search of the penis thieves.

Neil Gaiman has also benefited from free e-books.

'True Blood' Has Own Mythology. "Alan Ball, creator of HBO's new vampire drama True Blood, told SCI FI Wire that he didn't know too much about vampire movies or lore, so he created his own mythology." WHAT IS WITH PEOPLE BLITHELY WRITING ABOUT VAMPIRES WITHOUT KNOWING ANYTHING ABOUT THEM? IT TAKES FIVE MINUTES TO READ UP AT WIKIPEDIA, YOU GUYS. The least you can do is read up and then go, "Okay, I want to do it differently. But at least I know that I am doing it differently."

The Disappointment Of David Tennant [Doctor Who].

'Primeval' Is No 'Who' Clone; Fans Stoke 'Primeval.'

'Werewolf Women of the SS' Hits the Comic Book World!

Maggie Gyllenhaal's Racy Ad Campaign Makes Little Brother Jake Uncomfortable ("I'm in Heathrow, and there's a 12-foot picture of you upside down in a negligee").

The woman who decides what movies you get to see.

Images: Six New Badass Max Payne Promo Photos; See the Gort That Could Have Been (but why is he wearing high heels?); First Look At James Cameron's 'Avatar' Alien? ("I have to concur... that it looks far, far too much like a furry").

Trailers and clips: Worth Watching - July 11: 'X-Files: I Want to Believe' TV Spot; At Last, a Trailer for Vikings vs. Aliens Flick 'Outlander'; Sing Along with That Song You Don't Really Know from 'Hamlet 2' ("Sexy Jesus"); Harrowing 'Donkey Punch' Trailer Scares Audiences Into Celibate Future.

Time Magazine Proclaims "Batman is Back"; Who Created The Bat-Pod?; The Joker's Overture - All Good Things Come To An End! Update - Free Screening Tickets; The Dark Knight video interviews.

New X-Files 2 Spoilers May Disturb You [Morning Spoilers]. Oh dear. Note: They're totally relationship spoilers.

'Quantum' Title Song Contenders Now Includes Alicia Keys; Brosnan: I’ve ‘made my peace’ with 007.

Jennifer Lynch Takes on 'Snake Woman,' which will be shot simultaneously in English and Hindi.

So glad that she mentioned the lipstick. SO GLAD.

Genuinely, last night, when I got my magazine, I had to turn it over so that the cover didn't creep me out.

Haha, YAY. Well done for talking them into it. It deserved a giant fugging.

P.S. Look at my latest journal entry - there's a raffle starting soon where one of the prizes is a keyboard Neil Gaiman used to write stuff and will sign for the winner. Also a ton of other fun stuff. :)

LOL! MTV better be careful. If they give away too much, the fans might be too bored to see the movie for the 2nd time when it finally comes out. Just sayin'... =P

I've been waiting for GFY to do that cover. Whoot!

That Doctor Who article ticks me off, since it's less that people hate David and want to see him leave, and more that he's going to inevitably going to be replaced and speculation keeps the show as hot as it is, tbh.

Also, Russell T. Davies, in response to your belief that AMY WINEHOUSE would be brilliant as the Doctor...I have none, because that is MIND BOGGLING.

Also, I don't know if you've heard the Mamma Mia soundtrack, but Pierce Brosnan has got a decent voice. I was shocked.

Dunno how closely you're following the "literary agent sues the whole innernets" story, but here's a fundraiser for the laundry list of defandants:

Some of us are also holding our own legal defense fundraisers and would be muchly grateful to appear in linkspam!

I wish they'd gone further into detail with that picture, except there are so many things that are so very, very WRONG WRONG WRONG with it that I guess it would've exceeded the classic GFY article's word limits.

See, he looks okay in the movie clips, which makes me think that EW didn't have the movie's makeup artist on hand (I doubt they ever do; I think they just composite from studio publicity shots if they don't do "creative" shoots of their own like this), so they had to cook up crap vampire makeup on their own. I seem to remember the Sweeney Todd cover last winter looking similarly awful.

Oh you better believe the fans hate the cover. I had almost 300 views of the post I did on my WordPress about it in ONE DAY, and got comments from fans who were INCENSED!!1! at my disparagement of the series, but who all had to admit "...yeah, but no really, that cover sucks. Ack."

I had fun adding snarky commentary to the comments, because I am a mean old poopie-head.

First of all, your hatred of Twilight kills me. I haven't read it, but I am enjoying the hell out of your snark. :D

I can't wait to see True Blood. I read Charlaine Harris, I think it will be a great watch if the obscure footage I've seen already is any clue. And Charlaine is a smart woman, I guess the vampire-lore-ignoring man didn't need to do any research with her around. *rolleyes* I agree that "too lazy for wikipedia" isn't inducing any admiration from me, either.

Really, "hatred" might not capture all the nuances... it's more like I love to hate it, and I hate myself for loving it (or at least parts of it). Let me put it this way: I never spent this kind of time on Eragon.
