I wasn't in a bad mood, exactly, but I haven't had the best day (tension headache, tension in my jaw, the realization that the premature grey/white hairs are spreading and not forming a Rogue streak). And then somewhere along the way, we had a sudden rainstorm and then I got into a much chattier mood, as evidenced by all the commentary below. Maybe it's the atmospheric pressure, I don't know.

The Guardian gleefully pans 'Wanted.' That said, this is the first review I've seen that wasn't like, "OMG SO MUCH FUN." (James McAvoy has second thoughts about keeping his trousers on. "McAvoy's hitman character emerges from a paraffin bath after removing bullets from his body and even the actor has trouble believing he'd go through all that with his jeans on. the realization that the premature grey/white hairs are spreading

Hee, I was just saying to [livejournal.com profile] malenky_devil that I saw some gray this morning. (I'm at the several hair stage, not just single ones.) The weird thing for me is that I have these strange white whiskers, each one just a single wiry hair, growing out of my eyebrows. I pluck them out.

There came a point where I wasn't paying attention anymore. And lovelorn e-mails? To "Dana"? I'm becoming increasingly glad that I couldn't bring myself to watch Season Nine. Moose are not to be trifled with, says the guy who almost had one as a hood ornament in October. They're like four cows stapled together with a bone-tree in their skull.

However, I will say that while I can't confirm this moose story (http://sigma7.livejournal.com/538241.html) ever happened, I do trust the sources on the matter.

And between Dark Knight, Iron Man (which just shocked me at how fun it was), V For Vendetta and Watchmen -- are we hitting the pinnacle of the comic-book cinematic adaptation? Not counting 300 just yet (I enjoyed it, but I do have that feeling when I like it and everyone else thinks it's just LOUD NOISES) nor Wanted (not a Millar fan), but we could argue their inclusion, too....

Maybe we should form a support group for people who were wrecked by the X-Files. I mean, I'm barely watching the clips for this movie, and I was known throughout my junior high and high school as "that weird girl who can tell you anything you want to know about that alien show." (Coincidentally, I have Season 1, Disc 3 from Netflix on my coffee table right now. I like to remember the show in its good days, when Mulder and Scully were snarky and not schmoopy "Dearest Dana"?!?! WTF I WILL CUT YOU, CHRIS CARTER and the show, you know, made sense.)

This musical theatre major agrees. :)

& On that note, I have to quote Ethan Steimel now and actually wish for a musical theatre production dealing with Nazi Germany specifically.

"I've noticed that not all musicals are lovey-dovey. Many have--or are centered around--tragedies. For example: Les Miserables is thoroughly depressing and is one of the greatest operettas of all time. Maury Yeston wrote a musical about Titanic. Almost all of Andrew Lloyd Webber's incredible musicals are thoroughly depressing (Sunset Blvd, Jesus Christ Superstar). Musicals about tragedies affect people's lives. I feel that a musical about the Holocaust is in order."
