Tuesday night, meh
May. 6th, 2008 05:03 pmUntil I get these annotations finished (please God SOON), I'm going to post only what I consider to be the ESSENTIAL linkspam--things that I personally geeked out over and/or felt were semi-important. I tend to geek out over pictures or trailers, so... that's largely what's going to make it through. Maybe some videos of polar bears. Who knows.
Even when Uma Thurman's stalker tries to explain his actions to his best advantage, he still comes off as completely crazycakes. I found this fascinating because Jordan's articulate enough to try to explain what he was thinking, and yet even his "innocent" explanations are still creepy.
A word that exists solely to be a word that doesn't exist. Heh.
MTV Movie Awards Nominees Announced, Extremely Relevant.
New Prince Caspian Photos.
The Twilight poster; 'Twilight' Trailer Shot By Shot. Could MTV be any more obsessed with this movie? No. No, it could not.
Harvey Dent with What One Might Almost Call a 'Second Face.' Something I discovered to my cost: do not read any interview with Aaron Eckhart, because he just blithely dropped a gigantic spoiler in the one I read. Granted, it's one you can see in the trailer, if you look really closely, but...
International X-Files Poster Online; hi-res stills, some old.
trailer_spot: Twilight, Love Guru, Fall, Strangers, Indiana Jones.

I'm waiting for the action figures. But really they won't have much action except to mope around and pine over Bella.

Date: 2008-05-07 12:10 am (UTC)This right here (http://storytubes.com/vote/hrt.php) is a contest for book review videos as done by children. Voting started this week and is done weekly in different categories. The weekly winner gets $500 in books and their sponsoring organization (school, library, homeschooling organization, etc) gets a grand worth of books.* This week's category is Hair-Raising Tales. I won't tell you who to vote for, of course--the important thing is to concentrate and then not die.
PS: I am afraid to watch the Twilight teaser. I luxuriated in eyerolling when I was reading it because O hai, Mr. and Miss Sue, but I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN.
*Remember, a tiny moist hand holding a book is a tiny moist hand not on your head!

Date: 2008-05-07 01:12 am (UTC)(The trailer is pretty short and mostly involves Robert Pattinson staring intensely in various directions. Although I did start laughing at the end. Waaaaaatch it, you know you want to!)

Date: 2008-05-07 03:39 am (UTC)I just saw Iron Man tonight, and DUUUUUDE. It was so spectacular. And RDJr. is H-O-T. Dave felt the same way about the climax fight as you did - it just wasn't quite right. I think I was waiting for RDJr. to kick ass in some unexpected way (like, you know, major new suit-toy!) but I still liked the fight.
P.S. We saw the trailers for Batman, Hulk, Indy...good stuff!
P.P.S. Speaking of Marvel heroes who are going to be in movies soon, have you ever read any Deadpool (who'll be in the Wolverine movie)? I think you'd really like the comic - he's hilarious and snarky (see icon). He has his own section in the memories at scans_daily. :)

Vampires, Vamps and VaVaVoom
Date: 2008-07-16 07:06 am (UTC)And for the vamporn, it's going to be Keri Arthurs. Her Riley Jenson character is awesome: Half Vampire, Half Werewolf and All Trouble.
Loves it.
Uh. Yeah. So I'm currently working on a paper focussing on the vampire as a means of queering the text and um... there'll be a symposium. So, y'know... Vamporn for Great Academia?
