SERIOUSLY. Both Brooke and Jason were safe? I know Idol is partly popularity and partly singing, contest-wise, but this has gone too far over to the popularity side. I think there will be backlash from Carly fans next week and either Brooke or Jason will go.

I am starting to deeply, deeply hate Jason Castro fanpoodles. Not everyone who likes him, because I know some sane people who do. But I've also seen a number of people who seem to think that hot = talented, regardless of whether his performance was a trainwreck or not.

Maybe I'm being weirdly vindictive--because rationally, I think it's actually Brooke and Jason who are in over their heads at this point--but I want David Archuleta to GO HOME. I don't get his appeal at all, he looks like Mickey Mouse, he has no emotional depth, he's too young and sheltered, GO HOME.

I really love Brooke to an irrational level, so I'm hard-pressed to ever say anything bad about her (even when she has a bad week - or four bad weeks in a row). I'm a sucker for the singer-songwriter type girls with the odd personalities and just a little streak of crazy. That said, my bottom two would have been Syesha and Jason with Jason getting the big old boot. His schtick got old for me a long time ago. And I feel like Syesha is just one big personality void - I never get anything from her.

See, the funny thing is that I really despise AI with every fiber of my being, but I actually watched last night because nothing else was on, and it gave me slight hope because, being a Broadway person, seeing ALW songs being performed got me very excited.

And now this, and it's basically, "Okay, AI, you had your chance at goodness...and you blew it. Way to fail."

I love Brooke, but she's done well and I think it was time for either her or Jason Castro to go. I like his voice too, but it was time for one of them.

Carly easily has the best voice in the competition - I don't know why she seems to have this likeability problem, where she's always in the bottom. I know Vote for the Worst hates her, which is aggravating. I don't like them or their methods.

I don't get Archuleta either, other than that he has a good voice and is a non-threatening, cute, teen boy.

And I agree with whoever said that David Cooke might be better losing -he'd have more freedom. He could do what Chris Daughtry has done, but maybe edgier. Maybe.

I thought Sayeisha was great last night, but she's not my favorite. Maybe she'd do well on Broadway.

Idol never ceases to shock me but I don't really get too surprised with this kind of bullshit anymore (even though this was EXTREME bullshit). There are so many secrets and conspiracies and such so I just sit back and watch the bullshit commence.

Being a musical fan(mot too much of an ALW fan though) just made me think about all the musical theater kids dying after last nights butchery. No theatre kid could even imagine starting over again.

Seriously, I do not get Brooke, at all. Restarting? I didn't get do that shit in high school theatre (or even middle school theatre) let alone on a major nationally televised show. (And by this point in the finals, they should be able to handle that. Also, if she wants the singing career thing, I hear remembering your effing lyrics and handling pressure.)

Castro was meh last night (his performance, that is, not knowing cats sing the songs in Cats was beyond stupid), but at least I can see him being sucessful post-AI and he's done pretty well in past weeks.

I love that America voted in Bush twice and yet still seems surprised when Idol goes south.

(Not to dis the righteous anger and indignation - I believe that disappointment should always be expressed vocally instead of lapsing into the attitude of 'oh well, we expect it to happen' - but ... It's modern America y'all. The continued faith in the democratic system despite all the evidence is so endearing. ^^)
