So... I had a shitty evening last night. My blood pressure still feels a little high today. Hurrah. Here was the one bright spot: I was at TV Tropes going through the Characters as Device list when I saw "The Littlest Cancer Patient" and went, "Aww, hey, that's like the thing I used in the... omg."

Presumably, the name of this trope is a reference to The Day After Tomorrow in Fifteen Minutes, which uses the phrase to great hilarity.

I have made my contribution to the world and can die happy. You think I'm kidding, and I'm not.

(Maybe I shouldn't say things like "die happy" after the High Blood Pressure of Fury last night. And the last time I had it checked, the nurse actually said I had very good, low blood pressure. Knocking on wood... now.)

(Before you ask: yes, I voted today. Now I'm going to go scrapbook something random until I feel mellower.)

Speaking of which, from [livejournal.com profile] entropy_and_me: "I was so inspired by your digital scrapbooking creations that I've gotten a bit, er, obsessively into it myself now. I made a digiscrapping resource post at my blog. You might be collecting links to do a digiscrapping linkspam yourself for all I know, but I thought my little resource post might be of interest to your readership."

(From the annals of badly-written headlines: Footage claims to solve Aruba mystery. Um, no. The footage itself is not claiming anything. There is no videotape hopping around going, "Hey! Hey, you guys! Hey!")

Pffft blue roses. Its the same colour as Lavondes and Bluebird breeds which we florists have used since the 90s without DNA splicing. They fell out of fashion for having a short vase life, incredible perfume.
Make a rose the same colour as Monkshood then you can declare victory on the blue tone.

Wait, Christian Bale in Terminator the what now? When did this happen?

Dammit, I wish the msnbc video player wasn't so crappy and would actually, y'know, play something. Is any of the Late Night Fight stuff on youtube? And I hope Craig Ferguson gets involved somehow, though I think he still has his writers.

Englund Not Among New Nightmare Plans.

That sound you just heard was countless horror geeks, howling with rage.

God, that facebook article pisses me off, first with this:

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey denied benefits to two minors because they have eating disorders. Eating disorders, the insurance company claims, are emotional, not biological.

RAGE. Then there's this:

Horizon has demanded access to the kids MySpace and Facebook accounds, to "shed light on the causes of the disorders, which determines the insurer's responsibility for payment." (i.e. deny them coverage)

KILL. Christ, I hate how fucked up the medical system in this country is.

Youtube has this video of the Conan vs Colbert and Stewart (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLfvf-L8pXc) "feud" but the Daily Show and Colbert Report websites also have videos up from last night's episodes ("Late Night Tangle" on the Daily Show and "Conan and Jon" on the Colbert Report). And I doubt Ferguson will get involved since the "feud" began over who "made" Mike Huckabee, Conan or Colbert.

The Ralph Fiennes-Juliette Binoche version was wonderfully awful 1993, and I don't think it even ended up in American theaters. After the rash of Jane Austen movies, the time's probably ripe for a new WH.

I read an article about the Lohan-and-Knightley-vying-for-the-role thing and noticed that it kept saying Lohan and Knightley are both on a long list of possibilities. I think it was just a slow news day, so that's what people picked out. I think the report on ONTD left some stuff out, because that way they can bash Lohan and Knightley all the more.

If this doesn't make sense, I apologize. I am still a little tipsy from the White Russian I had a while ago, and I think the keys have moved since I was last on the computer (it's taking me a while to type). Hope it's comprehensible!

A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET film without Robert Englund as Mr. K is one I won't be seeing. And it's going to be made by the folks who did the dire "re-imagining" of the awesome Eighties HITCHER? What, was Michael Bay playing "How many Fred-heads can I piss off in under 60 seconds?"
