Apparently another pancake storm is coming in, and it's going to be bad. I hear they're actually letting schools out, in fact. I just have to get to my medicine check and get back before the wind cranks up.
Re: The Tudors pics yesterday:
If you watched the behind-the-scenes/interviewy thing I posted last week, you might have noticed that the premise of the show seems to be that Henry VIII was "the original rock star." So accuracy may not be the top priority here. I almost hope they go full-out with modern music and be done with it--go hard or go home, that kind of thing.
Ask and ye shall receive: "New preview of The Tudors set to Evanescence's 'Lacrymosa.' " (Oh, King Henry, you so emo. Hee.) There's also another new preview, "All The King's Women", aka A Little Something for the Laydeez. You'll understand what I mean when you get there.
Teensy bit of Oscar gossip: Armani may have stolen Cate Blanchett's purse; Orlando Bloom and Penélope Cruz groped the night away at Prince's Oscar party. Although, it was Prince's Oscar party, so I'm not sure what else they were supposed to do.
UFO science key to halting climate change: former Canadian defense minister: "A former Canadian defense minister is demanding governments worldwide disclose and use secret alien technologies obtained in alleged UFO crashes to stem climate change, a local paper said Wednesday."
More Fun in Boston: "The Boston Bomb Squad, who made their city a national laughing stock a month ago by blowing up cartoon Lite-Brites, answered the question "What will you do for an encore?" by blowing up a traffic measuring device put in place by the Boston Transportation Department." Counting the Dr. Pepper fiasco, this would actually make three hissyfits that Boston's thrown in--what, a month?
Sting nets $45 million in drugs.

'Pride And Prejudice' voted Britain's best read.
'Borat' DVD Packaging Completes The D.I.Y. Kazakh Filmmaking Illusion: "Slashfilm.com has seen an advance copy, which is purposely designed to look as though you may have bartered for it from a toothless Kazakh street urchin for a bottle of goat urine: '[There's] not a word of English on the packaging...[It looks] color-copied...complete with off color tones, slightly blurred company logos, blurry text and moire pattern/lithographic scans.' " I kind of love that they went all the way with this. ETA from
rockgeisha: "I photographed the Borat DVD last week. The top says, 'DEMOREZ: Is life? No, is Demorez.' "
Costner's Serial Killer Flick to Spawn Sequels? I don't know, how 'bout we see it first?
Pirates Game Sets Sail.
la_sonnambula, re: Equus : "Also, poor Will Kemp! While I’m sure he’d rather be in a role where the audience can see his face, he doesn’t seem to mind the physical aspect of his character, Nugget. 'Dan is up for anything. We do a lot of things together - running around with him on my shoulders. I'm grateful that he's in fantastic nick, plus he's actually quite light. I've probably carried heavier women than Dan.' "

You can send an email to the judge asking him to stick to his original sentence of ten years in prison and ten years probation. PLEASE post this with your next linkspam.
There's a thread about it on the BPAL forums.

One doctor recalled that day in the operating room.
"He just put his hand inside and he said there are a lot of bones inside," she said. "First, one limb came out, then another limb came out. Then some part of genitalia, then some part of hair, some limbs, jaws, limbs, hair."
Inside Bhagat's stomach was a strange, half-formed creature that had feet and hands that were very developed. Its fingernails were quite long.
"We were horrified. We were confused and amazed," Mehta said.

I would never boil or bake or anything a potato without checking it first for sprouts/rot/green patches. Maybe I should add firepower to that list. Weird.
