The Potterdämmerung has a date: the final book will come out July 21, 2007. The Order of the Phoenix movie: July 13th, 2007. God help us all.

Something else I found out about the Radcliffe Equus: Will Kemp is playing the horse. As my sister said, "I'm not sure whether to feel sorry for him or not." It's a great move for his career, or what's left of it after Van Helsing, considering that the play is not only one of the great modern works, but also a huge publicity magnet this time around. On the other hand... he's playing the horse, and Harry Potter's riding.

Meanwhile: 'Harry Potter' stage strip stirs storm; alliteration always awesome.

Language note: Potterdaemmerung needs that "e" to allow for not using an umlaut-a.

Just like "ueber".

Otherwise, they are meaningless words and yes, it matters in German.

...rather than harrassing/stalking said publishers in the dim hope that they read your manuscript.

Erm, most writers submit a query letter, with sample writing per the publisher's guidelines for doing business. This is not considered harassment.

Stalking editors into the bathroom and sliding your manuscript under the stall door is the first sign of cluelessness about the industry.

That b0st0n community is awesome. I went there yesterday to see how they were reacting, and was very glad to see most of Boston isn't scared by lite-brites. I think the key point in this is that they were up in NINE other major U.S. cities, including New York which has way more cause to be paranoid about such stuff. Hopefully the guy who was arrested gets released asap and gets an apology. Yeah, it's fine for the police to be extra cautious, I guess, but arresting the artist who was hired by the advertising company is ridiculous.

Man the barrage of slash fic that will be coming our way.

I ran into Comment Pr0n the day the Equus promo photos hit the Net.

Do people who haven't read the play realize there's more than one horse? It's quite eerie onstage, something the film failed at. The first time I saw Equus I'd been in the Student Rush Tickets line. The house manager came out to ask if we'd like to see the show for free by being the onstage audience. Yes! I wound up sitting on the set's bleachers next to a horse in the enormous wire headdresses they wore. Apart from the brilliant script, it was one of the most disturbing audience experiences I've had -- in a good way.

I'm basically terrified for HP7 because I stand a decent chance of being in an intensive performance program in Austria until 2 weeks after the release. So what if I'm flying home and someone's wearing a "HP dies on page blah" shirt and POOF there goes about 8 years of my life that this...thing has sucked away. I just would really really like to have a copy when it comes out, but if that can't happen, I'll cry. I really will. And I will kill all spoilers.

Yeah, the thing is MONTHS away and I'm already at that mindset. Whatever. I still want to be here to watch the madness and giggle with the rest.
