Apr. 22nd, 2006 10:42 amUpdate: Hello, I am a superlative asshat. (ETA: The entry is gone now. Go here.) What I love is his vague insistence that he's proved we're "fktrds"... somehow. (Hmm... has Teresa Nielsen Hayden already disemvoweled him?) Also, I don't see any proof that he's back in New Orleans--he didn't include a landmark in that handy "YOU SUCK" picture. Personally, after a three-hour police chase, I would have kept going rather than turned around and gone back, but that's just me. Also, dumbass, the way you prove a picture was taken on a certain date is not to just write any frickin' date you want, but to include a newspaper of that date in the picture. But then I suppose the Birmingham News (or the Times-Picayune, though I doubt it) would have confirmed his location, wouldn't it?
As for the rest of it, I suppose it's always possible that his side of the story might exonerate him, but somehow, I have a feeling that if it did, he'd tell it, and provide some of this ample evidence from his PHOTO TAKING and his PRINT SCREEN BUTTON and his GMAIL, just to shut people up, rather than crow vaguely that he's bested us... somehow. So, basically, carry on, except that now he's proven himself to be utterly remorseless as well. I'm sure some lucky prosecutor will be thrilled to hear about that.
Also, I'm not sure that someone with six Livejournal names and three MySpaces, IIRC, has any room to rag anyone about being "an internet loser."
(Has he darkened his hair? It's hard to tell in the picture. And what the picture of Heather/
niamhstar down there is supposed to signify, I don't know. In case you're wondering, by the way, comments were disabled on that top entry because people started trolling her journal. In fact, I have heard that there was an entire community dedicated to cheering this guy on ["Whoever finds him, give him a medal"], and Livejournal ended up suspending it. Bearing this in mind, go back and read what I said the other day again. Now you know why I want to find a good national charity or women's shelter.)
(Man, I wonder how much it would cost to get Darth Junction on the case.)
Speaking of abusers: ack, Charlie Sheen.

Date: 2006-04-22 04:08 pm (UTC)As for Hunt... I can't believe people who actually cheer him on. What the hell is wrong with people? They're probably the same people who think Lacy Peterson had it coming to her and that Scott Peterson is attractive.

Thanks cleo, for keeping us updated.

Date: 2006-04-22 05:26 pm (UTC)I particularly love the insinuation that all of this sturm und drang is just the ravings of teh internet fktrds and their crazy internet warrants or something.
He will fuck up, he will be caught, he will be tried, and I do feel very comfortable saying that he will be inside a prison for quite some time. A jury will not like this ass clown, especially when the prosecutor passes out the attractively bound screenshots of his LJ.
A friend of mine who is a cop commented that he'll likely get picked up during a routine traffic stop, or being drunk and disorderly. Cop Friend says that lots of people with outstanding warrants they smugly think they've evaded get caught because they got pulled over for speeding, or even more stupidly, while trying to renew their licenses or apply for a gun permit.

It's a little figurine of a black chef with a hangman's noose on it, I believe. Trying to make out Heather is a Bad Person by equating her w/Lynndie Englund (sp?).

Date: 2006-04-22 06:15 pm (UTC)it's not a surprise the kid is not getting noticed around here. first of all, he may be lying. second, we have the election going on and thats the focus. your average non-LJ, non-myspace new orleanian has NO CLUE who this guy is.
second, the kid is getting a lot of run in the internets and so now he's kind of getting what he wants: attention.
third, and this is not an accusation or anything, but we have one side of the story. in america, you are innocent until proven guilty, right? I'm not saying the kid didn't do it. I aint saying he shouldn't be punished (I am, after all, a proponent of capital punishment despite my otherwise liberal leanings).
but we know one side of the story. there was this one time people accused other people of stuff and they were lynch mobbed. it was called the salem witch trials. i don't think this kid has owned up to it, right? so he deserves...yes, DESERVES, to have his say in court. I think violence against women is heinous and inexcusable.
but if you are American and you believe in American ideals (as they were conceived, not as our president now dispenses) then this kid has his right to be heard, yes? He has a right to mount a defense, to deny or confirm the accusation, just as the girl he allegedly attacked has the right to accuse him and seek punishment if the kid is found guilty by a jury of his peers.
if the guy did this, he deserves to be punished. but come on, people, lynch mobbing is SOOOOOOOO 1930's...

Date: 2006-04-22 06:25 pm (UTC)(The weird thing is that I don't know that he's ever actually said that he didn't kick her in the head. He just seems to refer to a bunch of emails and photos and... stuff that will prove that... he was provoked? She was leading him on? I don't know.)
I also don't think he's really back in NO, either. The girl herself is saying she doesn't think he is either--that he's not "that stupid," although I might disagree on that point. I personally think he's trying to mislead people into looking for him somewhere else, but there you are.

Date: 2006-04-22 09:15 pm (UTC)Frankly, it's more than likely that the phone and e-mail records he has been bragging about will be subpeona'ed by the prosecution and used against him. If I was the prosecuting attorney, his little LJ rant would have me licking my lips and salivating. It indicates that he is not remorseful about his actions and that he is proud of flaunting the legal system. You can imagine how that goes down in court. He's the prosecution's dream defendant.
And since he obviously doesn't have the kind of cash or connections to save his own ass, his future most likely involves a none-too-pleasant prison and everything that goes along with it.

Date: 2006-04-22 10:32 pm (UTC)Actually, if he really is from Mountain Brook--which is the rich-bitch neighborhood next door to me--he might after all. Which is why I was urging people to bring him in with as little fuss as possible--that is, anything that might give a defense lawyer ammunition.
That, and *I* know that there's no excuse for what he did. I simply put in the bit about "his side of the story" to anticipate what other people might say--the entry was such a blatant attempt to muddy the waters and mislead searchers that I was hoping no one would fall for it.
