I'm also looking for a good national domestic abuse charity and/or women's shelter those who are interested can support, if anyone knows one. I know of a local one, and I'll post that as well. I'm just trying to make sure I don't direct people towards the shelter equivalent of the Red Cross: big name, big overhead, big mismanagement.

I have worked for a couple of publishers as an editor. I worked my way up at Del Rey Books. I have had to deal with these sorts of "agents" a lot and I can tell you that they do take up my time. Long enough for me to put the submission back in the envelope and put in a "polite" form letter that if they handed it to the author the author would KNOW how far they are being screwed. Best had to be the agency that kept sending stuff for Lester Del Rey. I got permission from legal to put in "We have consulted with Lester on our ouija board and he has decided to pass."

Don't know if you've looked at the hamlethunt community yet today, but apparently the guy they're looking for has been on line. He not only updated his livejournal, he took a picture of himself holding up a sign that says 4/22/06 YOU LOSE!

Yeah, someone pointed me towards that, and I have it in a draft to go up next. The interesting thing is, I see absolutely no proof that he is actually in New Orleans--if you really wanted to taunt people, you'd take a picture of a street sign or something. But then, you would also confirm your location, which is what makes me wonder if he's trying to throw people off. I mean, what cop sits out there and talks to some guy for 20 minutes about his tats?

Also, what little you can see of his hair looks darker.

Unless he's got a laptop, he's probably staying at someone's house. The background in the photo doesn't look like an internet cafe or library. It's distressing to think that someone would knowingly harbor his sorry ass.

I hope they catch this guy.

Yeah, you can't really tell the other way. But did you see that her journal got trolled by these gothic_tards people? And that there was a willhuntiscool comm? "Whoever finds him, give him a medal"? Apparently there are far too many people who think supporting him is either 1) right or 2) funny.

I was curious and thinking about this today.Whatever happened with the guy who was said to have beaten up a goth girl at Convergence,in New Orleans? What happened, did they ever catch him? Was he proved guilty or not?

I don't know--I washed my hands of it when it started to get weird. At some point the girl posted something like "it all makes sense now because these things happen," (http://cleolinda.livejournal.com/396739.html) and both she and the guy concluded an entry in their respective journals with the same cryptic sentence, and photos of her injuries never did look consistent with having the bones of your face shattered by a steel-toed boot. I mean, maybe it was all real. But even in the "it's totally real" version, she seemed to make up with the guy.
