I'm actually kind of dreading this episode...baby-centric eps of any show almost invariably suck, and I can't take another person screaming MY SOOOOOOON! all over the damn island. Funny how no one gave nearly so much of a crap about Claire when she was actually kidnapped and everyone knew it. Pudgy smushy baby is so much more important than its mother...

I'll second this. It started with his claiming that "I got Claire's baby back!" when Sayid did most of the actual work on that one, and continued with his revealing things he shouldn't be talking about-- "She was going to give it up."

It's going to be hard enough for me to start liking him again as things stand now; if he starts in on the drugs? Chances swan-dive into negative numbers.

After I watched last week's, I checked my other LOST-discussion group and I asked what next week's episode was going to be (since I download the eps and I don't get to see the preview for the next week).

It's a Charlie episode.
And what happened to Charlie recently... oh, it makes me worry.

This episode is making me worry, mostly because I really like Charlie. I haven't added a d yet because this one is going to help me decide. He's sucked, and if he doesn't clean up his act I will not be amused.

That, and oy, no more baby-kidnapping, plzkthx. They've got bloody Walt, and I wanna figure out why he's so freaking special. Let's focus on Michael soon.

And I agree-- I also think that's the way Locke sees himself in that dynamic. I mean, if Helen had been quite a bit younger and shown a habit of him pursuing younger women, then my initial impression might be different, but . . . nah. I just think he's protective of her and the baby after the kidnapping, and wants to help out when/if he can.
